I have always without a second thought assumed I'd get an epidural, bc why suffer if I don't have to but I watched the "Business of Being Born" documentary this week and am full of doubt now!

- I was really enlightened hearing about the natural hormone balances in med free birth, and how epi interferes
- I'm scared of the idea of an epi stalling birth, and then having pitocin added in and further throwing natural process out of wack
- that majority of births in other countries are with midwives (not sure med statistics on that)
- watching natural births, the women seem so much more in control than I imagined
- I hear a lot of talk about the endurance/mindset of marathon running relates to natural birth gives me confidence in my own strength

I'd just love to hear thoughts from others who weren't strongly pro-natural originally, but interested and what ultimately you did.
