Just curious as to what is the norm, and what is extra.
When I delivered both my LO's, the hospital provided a snack basket - Gatorade, crackers, cookies, fresh fruit, granola bars; as well as a take-home meal - frozen lasagna and garlic bread. Both were sooo appreciated.
We also got the standard newborn stocking hat, and were told to take home any extra diapers, pads, disposable undies, or anything else like that that had been supplied.
The only thing I thought was great was my private postpartum room that had a bed for my husband.
We got a "birthday cake" and fruit basket and a special meal one night too. Plus a onesie saying "I was born at X hospital." Then the usual supplies and hat. It was a very nice experience at a very small local hospital.
