What are your thoughts on Evan and Ryan as a sib set? Too similar, ending in the same sound? We're not going for any sort of naming theme.
We are trying to name our second boy and are having some trouble agreeing (again). While DH and I like a similar name style, we don't usually like the same names. I'd hate to throw out one we both might like if we're just overthinking the matchiness.

Totally fine! I know a sibling set with those names (though they're adults now).

Both my daughter and I have names that end in son but we both go by shorter nicknames- me exclusively and her primarily. I kind of cringe when people say our full names in the same sentence. I still would have chosen her name but would not repeat the same phonics for another child so all “n” ending names are out.
I don’t think it’s terrible but would probably keep looking since they are both stand alone names.

My name and my youngest brother's name have the same ending sound. As kids we were always running when someone called the other one. What you often hear is the last sound. My name even has more syllables. Not the end of the world but kinda annoying. My parents were worried because my sister's and youngest brother's names start with A but one is a long A and the other a short one. That was never confusing.

I think they sound good together. My kids' names have similar endings (also the "an" sound) and no one has ever commented on it.

I like them together. My brothers and I all end in the lin sound (though spelled differently) and all are traditional Irish names. My parents weren't going for a pattern, just happened to like the names. Its never been an issue.

I think it sounds great together!!!! Me and my 3 sisters all end in the /E/ sound!

Nope. Not too close at all. When you are yelling up the stairs/at the playground you will put an emphasis on the "Rye" part of Ryan and the "Ev" part of Evan. They will know who you are talking to (as opposed to Dan and Anne where they sound too similar when yelled)
