This blog post cracked me up: http://crappypictures.com/crappy-mohs-scale-crunchy-mamas/
I also seriously appreciate the call to stop judging, trying to 'out crunch' one another, and to just do whatever works for your family.

@heartonastring: LOL!!! I am a diamond then, I have tried a little bit from the list.

That was funny! I am a 6! Honestly though, I didn't realize babywearing was a crunchy thing; I thought it was more a convenience thing!

haha, I'm not very crunchy at all. I'm maybe a 3 on the scale, IF that!

Haha, this is great! I'm mostly a 3 but I have baked with zucchini and made quinoa.

Lol judging by how screentime my child got today, I am a diamond.

@heartonastring: so funny! "Has baked with zucchini and made quinoa" made me lol

I was totally coming onto HB to post this - saw it today and totally cracked up. I am barely on the scale - no more than a 3

Pretty darn far up there with my placenta eating, no TV, former sheep farming, excellent spinning wheel skills, vegetarian ways!

That's great-- AND thank you for reminding me of Crappy Pictures-- I forgot about it after google reader went away.
@betsyboop: I have a friend who once said "There are two kinds of people: people who wear their babies in a sling, and people who don't." When I got pregnant, I was like, so.... I'm totally wearing my baby, FYI She's pregnant now so I wonder what kind of 'person' she is!

Haha. I'm a 7 or 8, but I'd like to think I'm a diamond. I love hearing how others parent, and I really don't pass judgement on the levels of crunchiness. I just know I fit in really well in Portland.

Pretty far up there! And proud of my values but let others do their thing.

I totally cracked up at #9 with the "family cloth" basket. Reusable, shared, cloth toilet paper. Nobody should be that crunchy! Apparently a friend of a friend uses it...

I've done at least one thing from the list for 1-8. Ha, I didn't realize that I was that crunchy. I'd like to think I'm shining bright like a diamond.

I've got a few from each category, save for level 9. Unschooling terrifies me, but I sure would love a chicken coop!

Haha this cracked me up. We do a number of these things so I guess I'm kind of 'crunchy' but I don't think I really consider myself that way.

I somehow got to level 6 on the chart, but honestly, prob more of a diamond. I do what works for my kid, and don't judge others for doing the same.

I guess I'm a diamond lol. I tell my husband that I'm too crunchy for normal people and to normal for crunchy people. Basically everyone things I'm weird we raise chickens and cows for meat and garden organically. I can my own food for the winter and practice extended breastfeeding and unless something changes tandem nursing. We did baby fed weaning and I cloth diaper. We don't have a tv set up. But I also believe in cry it out, and spanking and we don't bed share. I wash my cloth diapers in tide and buy goldfish crackers and teddy grahams for snacks. I make all my own bread, bagels and baked goods... Out of white flour and sugar. I'm just me and have my own set of rules I suppose lol. I never fit neatly under a label and have lots of friends with different opinions. We all get along and don't judge each other based on little details

@Mrs.Someone: this made me laugh too.
I'm probably around a 4??
nectarine / 2750 posts
I have never seen that site before but those illustrations were cracking me up! DH says I am a 4, but I feel like I have bits and pieces of a bunch of things. I just do what works for me and try not to care what others think and try not to judge others.

That was so funny. I'd never consider myself crunchy but going to by the "if you meet 2 go to the next level" criteria and my plans… I'm a 5. lol

Glad this gave all of you a chuckle too!
Based on this scale I'm an eight! But I think the fact that I don't CD eliminates all my crunchy street cred I like to think I'm a diamond.....I babywear (I even own the Gira wrap that's referenced in the pictures!), do BLW, try to use Nonviolent Communication, eat organic and paleo, use natural cleaning products, BF etc., but I also use disposable diapers, don't cosleep, and definitely don't use family cloth! And while I'd LOVE to raise chickens, they aren't allowed in my city
I think a lot of HBers are diamonds....we do what works for us, and respect our fellow mamas and their choices

@swedishfish: that's because baking with zucchini is DELICIOUS (this comes from a girl who has loved zucchini cupcakes for much longer than she's ever liked chocolate or vanilla). Also, when you have a garden with zucchini in it, you have to do *something* with it
I would say probably a 5, but I will also say that another reason to clean with vinegar and baking soda is that it's cheap and it works
