Just for fun. What do you call a mom who isn't crunchy?
I've googled a bit and found: Fried, Smoothie, Creamy, Soggy, Squishy, Mushy....
Some less than appealing, so what do you say?

Idk but Fried Mommy is funny Both in that crunchy granola v. fried chicken McNuggets and also that *all* new mommies are a bit brain-fried!

@NorCalWayfarer: haha yea... I kinda laughed at that one. There was a "reasoning" behind it, but I'm scared to start WWIII.
nectarine / 2134 posts
@.twist.: Oh I have no idea about the reasoning I just though it sounded funny! Totally not trying to offend anyone!
pineapple / 12802 posts
@NorCalWayfarer: I don't think the reasoning is "known". Just someone being silly, but you NEVER know! Don't think we've offended anyone.... yet.

@blackbird: NO! That word is banned in our house. We should ban it here too. I need a cringing emoji.

@NorCalWayfarer: @.twist.: I am 100% okay with being a Fried Mom if it is in any way related to fried chicken. Mmmm.

@Mrs. Jacks: Oh wow. A little googling and this really is a thing, hey?!

@.twist.: @Mrs. Jacks: wow I googled it and just got a lot is sex videos.

@jedeve: Yikes! A silky mom is a vaccinating, bottle feeding, crib and stroller using, disposable diapering, circumsizing mom. No homemade baby foods or attachment parenting.
However, I believe all of us fall on a spectrum and there are very few truly silky moms.

@Mrs. Jacks: Oh yes, very true. My curiosity came from seeing crunchy thrown around all over the internet but I truly haven't seen anything for the opposite type of parent.

@Mrs. Jacks: I was gonna say, I'm the vast majority of "silky" with a few crunchy pieces thrown in.
Mmm sounds delicious.

@blackbird: If we relate parenting to peanut butter, it all sounds very delicious. How deceiving.

I find it all funny. I think I'm right in the middle - I baby wear one, stroller the other, room share but never bed share, make my own non organic baby food, breastfeed, use disposable wipes and dipes, and vaccinate. And our kids haven't CIO (not for any reason, it just never worked. That and whoever isn't rocking the baby to sleep has to clean the kitchen so there is no incentive to) and they take pacifiers.
So am I a scrunchy mom? I don't want to be a scrunchy mom!
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@.twist.: Oooo i can do that. all I coudl picture was my daughter's morning poop, smooth with chunks of black beans on it. LOVELY. Not unlike the appearance of crunchy pb...blech

I never knew "silky mom" was a thing! I'm not 100% one way or the other, but I leaned more towards crunchy with LO#1 and more silky with LO #2.

@jedeve: scrunchy mom - lol, sounds like a mom from the 90's! I think most of us are pretty scrunchy.

@yoursilverlining: I thought I was crunchy until I just read @Mrs. Jacks: description. I am definitely scrunchy! haha
pineapple / 12802 posts
@yoursilverlining: What do you have against scrunchies!?
@blackbird: Oh... this is turning so bad! loose poop. aaah!
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@.twist.: If only I made her her own food, then it probably wouldn't have been like that I guess I could have grown and harvested my own beans
pineapple / 12802 posts
@blackbird: You don't??? I expect you to wrap the beans in their little bean skins yourself!

Well I'm a vaccinating mom sand that's all im gonna say about THAT lol
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
I'm 100% scrunchy then and the ways I've been more crunchy vs not have varied with each child and their particular needs! I'm all about the scrunchiness!

@anonysquire: Actually, I think science would be closer to wizardry than naturally organic... so... going to have to disagree with you there!
cantaloupe / 6923 posts
@.twist.: To me crunchy and holistic are more along the lines of wizardry. Healing kids with oils, muscle testing, no vaccinations, flying on brooms, homemade formula (potions).
pineapple / 12802 posts
except... you can't actually fly on a broom stick or do magic, so... science is the closest thing. I mean, if we're going to talk real world about it and not HP world... Science is pretty magical.
pineapple / 12802 posts
@anonysquire: HP is very serious business. No one calls me a muggle and gets away with it.
