I'd say middle irl and youngish for HB. I had my first at 25 and second at 28.
pineapple / 12566 posts
Middle, I think, and I had my 1st at 30. I'm about average on HB but probably slightly younger than most of my mom friends IRL. I think I'm one of the younger daycare moms.

@twodoghouse: I feel similarly... Good ol' Midwest.
IF put us a little over the "norm" around here. I was 29 when DD was born after IVF. I feel like a "middle" mom on HB and just personally, old for my area, but young for my immediate group of good friends who have mostly all planned to wait until 30+ to start trying.

Middle on hellobee, young in real life. I had my first at 28. I was one of the first in my group of friends, and the only one who has kids yet.

Old, I guess. Old compared to my siblings, old compared to my high schools friends. Younger than my best post-college friends. Similar to my current mom friends in my town.
I was 33 when I had LO1 and 35 when I had LO2. =)

LOL, I have been all three. I was 24 with my first and the very youngest in my birthing class. 28 with the second and 29 with my third. My son my second child (he is disabled ) at 23 came home with a darling baby girl that I am now raising. ( mother of the child is not involved, I have not heard from her in over a year)

Middle for HB
Young for real life (NYC)
Old compared to the people I grew up with
My first was born on my 29th birthday, my second when I was still 30, and my third will arrive after I'm 33. Most of the moms at preschool are my age or older (some 5-10 years older).
kiwi / 595 posts
Old, 35 with my first, and I just turned 39, baby 2 is due in August.
grapefruit / 4819 posts
Old amongst my friends from home, middle amongst DD1's friends' parents, middle/old on HB I think?
I had my LOs at 32, 34, and 36.
pomegranate / 3601 posts
Middle on HB, had my first at 29, my second at 31 and with my twins (if all goes well) I'll be 33. IRL most moms at LO's daycares are older.
pear / 1558 posts
In all circles I'm "old", but certainly not alone. I have many friends my same age with babies/toddlers or still hoping to have their 1st.
cantaloupe / 6146 posts
@mediagirl: I feel like an old mom most places (this is Ohio) but at synagogue and the Jewish preschool, I am a young to average age mom. Interesting.
Average at HB.

@Ree723: same timeline as me!
@cabbagerose: welcome to HB!

@lamariniere: Yes, spontaneous twins as no. 3 and 4. Totally crazy, now we just hope all goes well.

@Pumuckl: wow! My SIL just gave birth to spontaneous twins yesterday, which were babies 2 and 3! Wishing you a heathy pregnancy!

Young amongst friends, I was the first in my circle of girlfriends. At 31.
Probably older on average though?

Im a young mom where I live and amongst my group of friends. I had my first at 27.

Old for my hometown, average for where I live now. Average for HB. I had him 2 days after my 33rd birthday. Still contemplating a 2nd but I'll be 35+ if I have one.
kiwi / 554 posts
Old for where I live and within my social circle. DD was born just before my 29th birthday. Most of my friends either just had or are currently pregnant with baby number 2.
persimmon / 1114 posts
I feel like middle for my first one and old for my second. I was 32 when my first was born, 35 when my second was born. I am the last of my friends to have kids, but not by much (most had their youngest when I had my oldest).
pomegranate / 3314 posts
Middle, I think. I'm 35 and had my first at 30, second at 33. I'm in the Northeast.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
Older than my HS friends by several years and younger than my friends I've made since. So middle? I had DD at 26.
coconut / 8472 posts
Old for HB. Middle-ish to old for real life. Had my first at 35, almost done cooking my 2nd at 38. I'm good with it though, I was in no place to have kids any earlier.
persimmon / 1447 posts
Young, in all circles. When my oldest was in daycare (8 years ago ), I felt like a little kid next to the other parents.
papaya / 10570 posts
On the older end of in-between, I think. I'm 35 and I have a 3yo & a 12wk old baby.
clementine / 756 posts
I'd say I'm in the middle or older. I had my first (and only) at 32, when most of my friends were having their second.
pear / 1961 posts
Middle, I think. I'll have had my kids at 29, 32, and 34. I have a handful of (mostly) high school friends who had their first early, but I have plenty of others who are only now having their first, too. In May of this year, 4 of my 5 best friends (including me) were all pregnant, plus lots of other good friend/acquaintances. So I feel like I'm pretty normal/average!

I'd say middle, I had my first at 27 and second at 29, however in my area some start very young. Daycare, I'm in the middle. There are 2 very young moms, 2 my age, and 2 older (it's an in home so small group.)
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
In general, probably in between? Had DD1 when I was 30, so I'm sure compared to some that's already "old". But in my circle I'd actually say young.
pomegranate / 3973 posts
Both.
My step daughter is 13 already so at 32 DH and I are very young compared to her friend's parents. (DH was only 19 when she was born).
With DS we are probably going to be slightly old. I was 30 when he was born, most of my friends started having kids between 21-28.
hostess / cantaloupe / 6486 posts
Young. In my circle of friends I'm average. People here tend to have their kids a bit young anyway but at church and all activities we attend (and here on HB) I'm on the younger end. I was 21 with my first and 23 with my second.
papaya / 10560 posts
in the middle. irl circles older--i had LO1 at 27 and lo2 at 29, lots here had them in their early 20's. but in daycare mom circle i feel just in the middle.
persimmon / 1445 posts
I think young-ish or somewhere in between. I was 25 for DD1 and will be 28 for DD2. My local mom friends are similar aged or a little older. My close high school and college friends are all unmarried with no kids (none are CFBC I think, just haven't gotten there yet).
