Pretty self explanatory... I was at fault in a car crash today. We meet with the insurance guy tomorrow. Is there a chance they would be willing to cover my car seat? I know car seats are covered by insurance in some cases, but not sure about the "at fault" part...
(Disclaimer: It sucks emotionally and financially but at least physically everyone is ok.)

Absolutely, you may need to pay for it and then be reimbursed but it should be part of coverage. In the state I live in it is.

It will completely vary on your policy, California is the only state that legally requires insurance to replace a seat (and only if it is occupied at the time). Being at fault or not is likely not going to influence the decision though. It will be helpful if you can show the guidelines that your seat follows for replacement. It should be clearly stated in the manual. You can also contact the car seat manufacturer for a letter saying it needs to be replaced.
