LO got her last set of immunizations yesterday (16 hrs ago) and now has a low fever. I have never given her fever meds before. At what temperature do you give your LO ibuprofen?
She's at 100.58 F (38.1 C).

If she's fussy or lethargic at 100 I'll give her Tylenol. If she's still playing and happy I don't give it unless it's 101+. I also take the time of day into account. Everyone's temp is higher in the evening.

I agree with 101. If he is super fussy, or can't sleep, then I give it. Low grade fevers are good at helping fight off the illness.

Really only if P isn't acting herself & is lethargic (since it's rare she has a truly high temp). We follow the Seattle Children's Hospital recommendation & will usually medicate with Tylenol at 102+ if other natural methods of controlling her temp haven't worked.

I give at 101 or above. FYI, our ped said that most of the temple thermometers you buy are not very accurate and test/show high, in case that's what you are using. We've had our temple one read 102 when the under the armpit one read just under 100. So, unless both are over 101 for a couple of readings, I don't medicate.

@yoursilverlining: thanks for the tipi! We use a thermoscan ear thermometer.
DD seems to be handling it a lot better now that she's older (she's 1 Although she did pretty well the last time, I still can not shake how bad it was the first time. Her fever spiked so quickly then. It was literally her playing one minute, then yelling and going limp the next.
She's sleeping again and it seems all's well. I ended up not giving her anything since her fever didn't get much higher.
