I bought a couple of pairs of baby socks because they were on sale. Then I averaged out the cost of the Trumpette and Juicy Socks I got (6 in a box) and it seemed to be about the same as the "sale" socks. The REAL killer are those "matching" socks (i.e. Gymboree and Janie & Jack) that I sometimes can't resist!
So I wondered how much on average do you spend on a pair of socks for your LOs?

As little as possible but mostly because DS likes to take his socks off whenever possible. And chew on them. So I just go to Walmart and buy them in little bags of like five or six in his size and don't worry about the cost or cuteness because they'll either be covered up by his shoes (which are adorable) or in his mouth.

I have a rule of not spending more than a dollar per pair. So I still managed to get hand me down trumpettes! I do find it incredibly hard to resist cute baby things though... Shoes socks you name it!

@gracecat: Such a pretty profile pic! Hmm.. yup, hard to resist! I think I have a harder time with the socks because I justify that they'll get worn more than shoes before she starts to walk!
I have gotten some at Baby Gap for $1 on sale!

I don't really have a max...I like the look of trumpette, juicy, and the baby gap ones with the frilly foldover:). But none of them stay on, and I'd probably pay whatever to have some socks that didn't magically disappear on one foot all the time!
The best ones are a pair of Trumpette booties I bought on BS...They're like really thick socks. We still lose one of those on occasion but they stay on the best....

I don't have a max either . . . I just bought 4 boxes of Trumpettes from Zulily recently, and I really love matching socks (LO is wearing Valentine's Day socks--they match her shirt--from Mud Pie today).

I don't have a max...I'm obsessed with Trumpettes! But LO wears the $1 Target socks to daycare everyday and comes home barefoot.....I get the socks back at the end of the week when they find them!

I don't like to spend more than $2 a pair. But that's only because it's impossible to find real sales where we live and even then, I'd have to buy them elsewhere. If I lived in the States, I'd limit it to a $1 a pair (which I didn't know was possible until we arrived).
