Baby dance... at the in-laws!?

So, we're taking a trip up to Vancouver, BC, tomorrow for 10 days to visit my husband's family for Canadian Thanksgiving (as an aside, can I tell you how excited I am for Thanksgiving dinner this weekend?) and if I do ovulate, I think it will happen while we're there.

So here's our conundrum: We're staying with my in-laws. The guest room is right next to theirs and they're retired, so they'll be home all the time. What do we do!? The bed we'll be in is super squeaky. Should we be creative and go for it anyway, at risk of a potentially embarrassing situation? Or should we chalk this cycle up to a loss and try again later.

This is mostly just a silly question, but I know you guys have to have some funny stories about sex at the in-laws. Share!

LOL we were just in a very similar situation last week. I'm pretty sure I O'd on Friday and we left that day to spend the weekend with my oldest sister and BIL. The room we stay in is also right next to theirs, the walls are fairly thin and the bed is extremely squeaky!! We decided to go for it and we BD on the floor next to the bed (sorry for the TMI :)) and just tried to be as quiet as possible. Mission accomplished

haha, yeah, I think if it was me, I'd want to go for it! Although my in-laws are crazy and if they heard us would probably hope we're making babies anyway, haha. But I don't think you should pass up a cycle just to avoid embarrassment - I'm sure you're in-laws will understand, especially since you're going to be there for so long!

Baby winnie was conceived at the in-laws lakehouse with a house full of relatives, squeaky bed and all : ) We knew it was my peak time thanks to the digital ovulation tests. So, I say go for it!!

This cycle DH and I were staying with friends at the time I thought I would O, sleeping on the couch in their 1BR apartment. Luckily my O ended up delayed 4 days so we were back home by the time it actually happened. But if it had, I think we would have snuck in some verrrrrrrry quiet BD. Can you get it on on the floor so things are less squeaky? Or sneak off for a "nap" when everyone else is downstairs?

@Rachel: Since we're flying, the only car would be his parents... still awkward

I really don't think they'd mind, though. If they ask, we could just tell them, "Oh, we were only making your grandchild. No biggie!"

Yeeeeah, we took it to the floor, too, damn noisy bed. What's up with all these squeaky beds at in-laws' homes? Hahaha!

Ummm, all that I will say is that the bed at Hubs' grandma's house is super squeaky, and shares a door with the bathroom that almost everybody uses...so, floor, and silence.

Hehe, we LIVE with my in-laws so I'm pretty hardened to the idea of babymaking in their house.

However, Chickie was conceived in fairly incognito circumstances as we were traveling with my SIL at the time. First we had a suite where the beds were on opposite sides of the same wall, and squeaky, so we used the floor, and in the next hotel we shared a room so when she was passed out from her migraine meds we took a shower... never let it be said that you HAVE to be missionary position to make a baby.

The floor! It also helped because we could barricade the door in case someone decided to pop in just to say goodnight.

I also agree to the floor option. I may or may not have resorted to this option when traveling just to sneak in sexy time.

Yep, I would suggest either floor or wall (not the one adjoining theirs!). Go for it! They can't argue with a grandchild Ha.

I agree that you should go for it while you're there. I definitely wouldn't want to give up on a cycle.

get creative! you can do it on the floor, in the bathroom, standing up, standing up bending over. definitely don't do it on the squeaky bed!

We broke the bed at the in-laws, and we weren't even doing anything! I just rolled over and the leg suddenly dropped out and a whole side went down. His dad didn't quite believe that story though. "Well the bed was fine before, it's you young people that are doing it..." lol!

Get down on the floor and do the dance girl!

Oh well my sons dad and i were drunk, we went to his moms house because he was living there when we first started dating. She was dead asleep upstairs...well i attacked him in the dining room and that's where we stayed...haha! The dining room floor...lol
