@T.H.O.U.: Are you dealing with a milk allergy? The baked cheese/pizza challenge is basically a step between a baked milk challenge (which Xander passed 2 years ago) and regular milk challenge (which he failed twice). It's to see if they can tolerate more dairy than just baked milk. So now he can have pizza and possibly things like lasagna and baked casseroles. He might also be able to tolerate other forms of milk, like in chocolate.

He still has to avoid all "raw" forms: milk, butter, unbaked cheese, yogurt, ice cream, pudding, etc.

@T.H.O.U.: It sounds like it's more likely to be a milk protein intolerance, though an allergist could confirm an allergy. I don't know if you do things difference for intolerances vs allergies, but our order was to do baked milk (cake, muffins, bread, cheeze-its, etc). If they can tolerate that, you're supposed to ensure they get baked milk in their diet regularly. Then try baked cheese (pizza, casserole, baked mac & cheese, maybe goldfish and/or milk chocolate). If they can tolerate stuff like that, you want to give them that stuff regularly. And then after that, would be trying regular milk. Good luck!

@T.H.O.U.: Yeah, if she can't tolerate baked cheese, I'd hold off on any of the more "raw" forms of milk: milk, butter, cheese, yogurt.

They do make non-dairy yogurts though, which my son ate all the time as an infant! We got the ones by So Delicious.

@T.H.O.U.: I honestly don't know how it affects lactose and if you can use the same method for an intolerance. The biggest difference between an allergy and intolerance are what systems of the body are affected. With an intolerance, the digestive system is the only one affected. For an allergy, the whole body can be affected (skin, lungs, etc).
