My LO is a heavy drooler and soaks up her bibs within 30 minutes of having it on. I'm constantly switching out her bibs and sometimes even her onesie when the bib is soaked through. Does anyone else have a baby that drools a lot? Are there any bibs that worked better than others?

RJ is almost 2 and he still requires a bib every day. At his worst, we went through 3 bibs and 1 shirt change a day, consistently for weeks.
My favorite are the large, stiff-backed terrycloth bibs from Carter's. I think they are actually for eating. I bought them in 3 packs. They are best because they have snaps to close instead of the non-catching velcro, which stops sticking and then you have bibs falling off everywhere.
Also, don't plan on re-using bibs-- after about 6 months, spit stains show up (even though the bibs looked perfectly clean after each washing!) and it just looks awful. I mostly use bibs now to prevent that from happening to all of his shirts.

I have an LO with this problem. We have some Carter's Just One Year bibs (or whatever their Target brand is) and they have a waterproof barrier in them, plus they're pretty large. I like them!
I was a heavy drooler as a baby, so I knew we'd have this problem. Terrycloth absorbs well but most are so flimsy that they soak through. These cotton/waterproof Carters ones are the way to go! They're the matching ones to the little sets they have in the baby aisle... i think there's gender neutral duck stuff near them. (Mine have monkeys, but I think they have other patterns now)

I have seen some people use some of the terrycloth ones with the plastic backing and they looked like they worked great!

For eating I really like the Baby Bjorn bibs like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000BFP0HC/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1323135399&sr=8-1 (they come in several colors) but not sure if that's something you want your LO wearing all the time.
Otherwise, we just use cloth bibs with plastic backings.

I am a fan of the Green Sprouts waterproof terry bibs. It is great for drooling babies. The bib is very soft with no plastic backing.

No suggestion on bibs but some personal experience of what worked for us when our daughter was drooling heavily. We bought a Inspired by Finn teething necklace to take away some of her teething pain. I wouldn't say its 100% taken away the pain but it has completely eliminated her drooling. It might be worth a try!

Today i saw a bib that looked a little like a bib with a turtleneck made for droolers. Can't remember the name though.

I have some of the carter's newborn just one year bibs and like them the best so far. I had them when my son was born 2 years ago and hardly used because he never really needed bibs for drool. I bought some more recently but noticed they are not as thick as the previous versions.
@TINA: I'll try to look for the ones for eating by carter's. haven't come across them.
@ANDREA: I have some bumkin bibs for my son for eating. maybe i'll try it for drool and see how they work. I assume I'll still want something with absorption though.
@BOOGS: I have one of these bjorn bibs as well, but yeah, it's probably too uncomfortable to wear all the time.
@YIN: I haven't seen the green sprouts ones in person but have read that they're pretty thin. I'll see if I can find some to see in person.

I agree with all the moms that mentioned the Carter's bibs with the waterproof liner in them. They worked great.
One caveat- just make sure you get the infant bibs and not toddler size. I got a few of the toddler size and they are still to big for my almost 2 yo- I don't know what giant babies they are made for!

@BoogieBea: Yeah I figures it wouldn't be a great option for all day. The bibs MommaCommaPhD is talking about are the ones I was referring to, I would definitely recommend those.

The link to the target Carter's bibs are the smaller bibs with the non-stick velcro. They're great because the velcro doesn't stick to and ruin other clothing, but be assured that after about 6 months, the velcro doesn't stick to itself anymore. But usually you'd want to throw them out by then anyway because the spit stains start showing.
The turtleneck bibs someone was talking about, I've seen them in babies r us-- they're Closer to Nature brand, I believe. They look cool but are just one layer of terrycloth-- RJ would soak through it in 5 minutes!
