We're thinking of having a birthday party for our daughter this year. Her birthday falls on a Thursday and we're going to be away the weekend before and the weekend after her birthday. The weekend 2 weekends before is a holiday so our other option is 3 weekends before. We could also do the weekend after or the weekend after that.
Would you do the party 3 weeks before the birthday or 1-2 weeks after?

After! E's bday is this Sunday, which is Easter, so we are having her party next Sun. I almost did the Sun after just to ensure extra nice weather, but uh...too pregnant

Yup after, I like the special day to be with us first, the "party because you're 3" can be after without confusion.

For me it's always after. I have a weird superstition about celebrating birthdays before they happen. And we're in the same position with my daughter this year - her b'day falls on a Monday and the weekend right after it my husband is working so we're thinking of the weekend after that for the actual party.
