Hi everyone I'm fairly new to this journey and may not know all the lingo yet however, it looks like I've found a good source of experience and knowledge in all of you.

A bit of background, my husband and I started trying to conceive approximately 18 months ago. At first I thought we weren't getting pregnant due to stress and timing, etc.. I started charting my cycles more closely and after more than 9
Months of timing intercourse at what seemed the "ideal" time, still no pregnancies. I finally decided it was time to start talking to my OBGYN to get her opinion about potential next steps. She initially recommended a seaman analysis. My husband completed the analysis and when his general physician received the results, he made some statements about the results which caused some unnecessary concern. The doctor admitted he wasn't an expert in interpreting the results and referred us to a fertility specialists to have an "initial" consultation. At our initial consultation the specialist reviewed my husbands results and wasn't overly concerned. He then decided to take a look at my ovaries and uterus via ultrasound. During the ultrasound the Dr. noticed that my Fallopian tubes were visible, I didn't know why that was an issue however, he explained they are usually not visible unless there is fluid present or other possible blockages. He recommended an HSG to determine if there was any blockage in my Fallopian tubes.

I completed the HSG on Monday and the Dr. Who performed the HSG believes that both of my tubes are blocked because the dye did not spill out or pass through either one. He of course recommended I speak with the fertility specialist about the results and options.

At this point I'm feeling very anxious and sad about the results unfortunately the fertility specialist cannot see us for another month to go over the results. I want to have some sort of idea of what I can expect. Do you all think the specialist will immediately recommend IVF or to consider surgery on the Fallopian tubes? I'm not sure that we are ready to go the IVF route and would prefer to try to "repair" my falopian tubes if possible. Anyone have experience with this?

By the way I'm 34 and have been diagnosed with HPV, I'm assuming that may have contributed to the Fallopian tube blockage?
