You send one to live with the squirrels? But seriously, I think by the time the third comes around the first one has a little more autonomy so they can be directed verbally and don't need as much hands on. Unless you're Mrs Train, then it's all hands on deck and strive to survive

But that's only in the early weeks, right? You can't always split the duties, even with 2. I'm mostly solo with the 2 since I am a SAHM and DH works long hours.
If I had a 3rd, LO1 would be 5+ so she'll be even more independent by then. I think it would be manageable to have 3, but I can't wrap my head around more than that.

If we decide to have a 3rd, by that time #1 would be 6-7 years old and able to help out/amuse #2 while either of us is busy with baby.
