Anyone have one of these? It's the Paragard (not the Mirena--NO hormones). Just wondering if you had one, and when you took it out before TTC. I have read anywhere from "take it out and get pregnant the next day" to "wait 3 months after removal before TTC."
What did your doc say?

I had Mirena (not the same I know) but my doc said 'wait a month or two'. We've waited until after my second AF and she was WAY worse than the first, so I give some credence to waiting a cycle or two.

I had one in for 3 months, developed an allergy to copper and had it removed. We weren't really preventing or trying and didn't get pregnant until we were no longer careful a year later.

I had my Paragard for 4 years and just got it removed yesterday. My doc said I'm good to go immediately and that if we don't want to get pregnant right away to start using something else. So many of her patients come back the next month pregnant. 
(It was also her BC of choice.)

@Adrena: It really wasn't bad. It didn't feel amazing, obviously, but it was out in two seconds and all discomfort was gone as soon as it was removed. The strangest part is that I don't feel more "naked", which doesn't really make sense since I never really felt it when it was in but I already forget it's no longer there. Somewhat dangerous since we aren't going to TTC immediately.

I had the Paragard and had it removed for my first pregnancy. Since it doesn't use hormones, there's no waiting period to get pregnant.
@Adrena, you get some bitchin' cramps for a few hours after removal but it's otherwise a very simple procedure.
