Do you use liners in your slow cooker? For some reason I resisted using liners for a while and finally tried using it this week and wow cleanup is so much easier!
I still think the liner looks weird and I would want to use it ifI had guests and was serving food directly out of crockpot. Am the only one new to liners?

I use them all the time! I even transfer leftovers in them to Pyrex because it's so easy.

I use them occasionally - for really messy/sticky recipes. I love them but feel too guilty to use them regularly.

@Mrsbells: agreed. Reusable defeats the convenience factor! I hate cleaning my crock pot so it usually ends up soaking for a day. That seems to help the cleaning process.

I love the idea because I hate cleaning the crockpot but like @Portboston: I’m really trying to get away from throwing out so much plastic.

Love them! And I use my crockpot infrequently enough that I don’t feel bad about it. Like a few times a year.

I would be nervous about the plastic leaching into my food.
I have an Instant Pot, and I know some people buy a second insert, maybe that’s an option?

I have used the liners in my crockpot (they are fabulous) but was worried about plastic leaching into my food. I found out they are BPA free, so atleast there is that. 🤷♀️
ALSO - for use in one's InstaPot - one CAN use the liners (as per the Instant Pot company response) but ONLY on the slow cook setting. Do not pressure cook with the liners in. One of my friends and I happed across this months back and since DH and I do not use FB, I had her screen shot it for me (see affixed) and text it in case my memory failed me. I have yet to try it though since my Insta is so easy to clean.

I haven’t used the liners because it feels wasteful- both money and environmentally. But it’s really tempting! If i has them I’m sure i would but I haven’t bought them yet.
I actually recently broke my crock pot ceramic insert while washing it and looked into getting a replacement insert- It was more than half the cost of the entire slow cooker at least. I only had a very basic $25 model though- maybe all the inserts are 15-20 dollars so if you have a nicer one it makes more sense?

@Foodnerd81: I agree! I wouldn't have bought the liners either (initially). My mother-in-law uses them and I had commented what a great idea they were, next thing I knew, I was gifted 2 boxes. I'm not one to look a gift horse in the face, so I graciously accepted and didn't use them for months until I made a chili in my crockpot. It was soooooooo much easier disposing of the liner than soaking and scrubbing the ceramic insert.

Honestly, I loathe cleaning my crockpot. The ceramic insert is heavy, it always requires scrubbing and after I awkwardly dry it, half the time I missed a spot and the other half it still smells like food.
I have the same hesitation about the liners as others (environment, plastic leaching) so I haven't used them. I just decided to use my rice cooker and Instant Pot for slow cooking because I can stick the inserts in the dishwasher and they are less awkward to clean by hand if needed.

@codeitall: oh I didn't realize the ever cooker insert can go in the dishwasher. I'll double check mine. And yes the crockpot ceramic piece is so heavy! Washing it is a workout!

I've never used a liner, but I've never made anything that was much of a pain to wash off either. A little soak and a gentle scrub brush has always done the trick.
Anyhow, as an alternative to the plastic liners, what about using aluminum foil? I haven't done it myself, but I've read that it's okay to use in the slow cooker.

My crockpot has a non stick coating in the liner, it's a metal insert that you can also use on the stovetop to brown meat before adding the liquid. This is probably not an ideal solution because of the nonstick coating, but I use it so infrequently that I don't even worry about it.
