I'm going back to work on Monday and am nervous. My three month old baby girl seems to be very attached to mommy and daddy - she cries when anyone else holds her. Did anyone else have a baby like this and how did it work out when you returned to work? Please tell me it will be okay!

@agold: I have a very clingy "mama's boy" and we had a rough transition when daycare started at 5.5 months. However he did adjust, and over the course of 4 days he started enjoying daycare and smiling/reaching for his teachers at dropoff. The first day was the hardest. He barely ate anything and his naps were garbage, but each day he ate a little more and slept a little better. Now he takes better naps at daycare than he does at home!

LO really surprised me with daycare. He had a strong preference for mom & dad and would cry with just about anyone else except for people that were around babies or kids alot. He immediately connected with his lead teacher. My DCP allowed me to bring him in for two days to help with the transition while on mat leave. He barely napped and his eyes were bloodshot red from being awake all day or perhaps crying. By the third day of his first full week he seemed to be okay. He never cried at drop off though.
One thing that helped calm my nerves about sending him to daycare FT was how he did a 180 when my mom watched him for 2 weeks when I first went back to work. Normally, he would scream if she came close, but my first morning when I went back to work I left the house before he was awake. When he saw who was there when he got up my mom told me he looked around and then smiled at her. Babies know how to survive and are capable of going with the flow.
The first two weeks at daycare I made it a point to hand him to one of his teachers hoping mommy's seal of approval would make him feel better.
