Hello ladies,
I've been obsessing and trawling pinterest for some ideas on the perfect plummy burgundy oxblood lipstick. I'd love to hear some reccommendations of fave deep lipsticks. My skin tone is olive southern european, and I think this deep wintery lip colour is something I should be able to pull off (if I can muster up the confidence!) I usually wear bright plums and pinks.

Revlon Black Cherry and Wet N Wild Cherry Bomb would be two good, inexpensive ones to try out. I own both, although I like the Wet N Wild one more (and it's less than $2!).
I have fair olive-toned skin, and I think the color looks good on me. I bet it looks great on you!

you know, I have been searching for revlon black cherry but its not available in Australia at regular retailers. Might try online. Wet n Wild isn't available here bar from one online retailer which sells US brands (and at a reasonable price). I have a lippy by Besame which kind of fits the bill but is more of a lighter cherry colour. Downside is its so creamy that it does slip quite a bit.
I've currently been wearing Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Luxembourg which is a bright watermelon reddy pink colour (it is summer here after all), and also a Revlon balm stain which lasts ages.

@FannyMae: NARS Volga is a nice deep color, since you are able to get that brand. Urban Decay in Shame is another good one.
Im not sure what drugstore brands are available down there! Im only familiar with US and UK.

yep NARS Volga looks lovely too, though reviews keep saying the NARS matt lippies are very drying so I'm a bit unsure.
We have very similar drugstore brands, except some lines are different.
I'm eyeing off some Chanel Rouge Allure lippies, I had a little play with them yesterday 
Rouge Noir and Elegante looked lovely, and I know the consistency/wear is really comfortable. but $52 ughhh

@FannyMae: Most matte lipsticks in general are pretty drying. Ive tried them from lots of brands. You have to moisturize and exfoliate your lips really well first. Ive never tried Chanel lipstick, but gahhhh that's expensive.
Another would be Black Dahlia from OCC. Ive been eyeing it forever. Or MAC Prince Noir.
I dig dark lips. haha. That and purple.

Kyle Richards was on Watch What Happens Live and had a great lipstick color on - tons of people tweeted asking what it was and she said it was Mac Fashion Revival. I keep meaning to go and try it...I was really digging that color on her!

passion red is my fav for myself, but i'm very fair so it might look different on you. it's a classic deep red. i layer it with hourglass gloss in icon (i'll prob buy a less $$ gloss next time, i didn't look at the price, but it has lasted!)

I LOVE Clinique lipstick because it feels like a long-lasting lip balm and keeps my lips super hydrated. A Different Grape is my go-to wintertime shade - I think it would look awesome with your skintone!

@loveisstrange: my 2 fave lipsticks are matte by chanel - rouge allure velvet in l'raffinee and l'exhuberante and they wear so increadibly well they're worth the ridiculous price. Black dahlia does look incredible, I think OCC is available online here.
@mrs. bird: sephora doesn't ship to australia unfortunately, though there is one store that recently opened in Sydney.
@smith: i'm a clinique fan too, i've used their eyeshadows and blush for years though haven't had much experience with their lippies. might have a play next time i'm in a department store (probably tomorrow... hehee)
@PrincessBaby: I think MAC is one of the brands I've never really gotten into, I think because the variety is just so huge that I get overwhelmed trying to make a decision? Every time i've gone to buy something i've felt rushed/bustled about, its loud, young sales people who are a bit too adventurous with suggestions? strange reason to be avoiding a brand, I know hehe
