I did because the baby was measuring small. Went back weekly until they induced me.

I had one every other day towards the end as my bp was high from about 38 weeks.

Yes when I was overdue and then when I had a fever on the day of her birth.

I had 2/week starting at 34 weeks with LO#1 because I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes.

I had one at 35 weeks due to my blood pressure and was pulled out of work early. The plan was to do them weekly for a couple weeks and then go twice a week. I ended up having him 2 weeks later.

Yup for both. DD- at 37w4d I told my Ob I wasn't feeling as much movement so she sent me to get one. She failed the first nst so I was sent to the hospital and after a couple hours (and some zapping to wake her up) she passed. My water broke the next day!
Ds-they had me do nsts starting at 37w bc of a marginal cord insertion

I had several once I went past my due date, the last one while I was already in labor (but in denial).

I had them every 2 weeks b/w 23 and 28 weeks and then weekly from then on....I was high risk though!

I did at MFM, along with an u/s to check fluids, with my first when I was overdue. I had another one earlier with him because I couldn't feel movement (AP...he was apparently moving like crazy).
None with DD, but I was induced the day before and delivered on her due date.

I had them weekly from about 36 weeks until I was induced at 39+6 given IUGR concerns.
persimmon / 1179 posts
Nope, and I didn't go in to labour with my first until 41+2. I thought they would do one since I was late but they didn't.

I had to have them twice a week from weeks 32 and on, because of gestational diabetes and prior loss.

I had one around 36 weeks when I had not felt her move in 12 hours...all was fine...just a cool 1 hour trip to the hospital

I had four because I was having twins; at the fourth I was admitted due to hypertension.

I had them 2x wk from ~34wks, I think, due to being AMA. Was a bit annoying, but I did like keeping a close eye on my LO. I also ended up being polyhydramnios (too much amniotic fluid), so I also got u/s to measure the volume 1 x wk along w/ the nst.

I had two because my blood pressure spiked a few times. One at 35ish weeks and one at 39 weeks. I would have had another at 41 weeks but I went into labour at 40+5

Yes at least once a week after 32 weeks due to low fluid. Also bpp at same time.

Yep, everyday (Monday - Friday) around 37w, and the following Monday because my BP was always high. I ended up being induced that Tuesday morning.

I'm not sure it was technically a NST but my midwife did bring me in and hook me up to the CTG for thirty minutes at 40+3 because I was having periods of contractions and my OB had mentioned low fluid when I saw her at 40+1. Baby's heart rate was fine (as was my bp etc) so it was really just for peace of mind although she did offer to break my waters to kickstart labour if I wanted her to.

I had one this past Monday, one day shy of 39 weeks. I think they are standard here, not sure. I'll have another one next Monday if he doesn't come before then.

@GoGoSnoGirl: old post so you may not remember but did your insurance cover the additional ultrasounds?
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@mediagirl: I know you didn't ask me, but I had an ultrasound every week from 31 weeks on, and my insurance covered all but $25 for each additional ultrasound. I think they were billed at $200 and something?
honeydew / 7235 posts
@mediagirl: I had a bunch of extra ultrasounds with my second baby... I was AMA which added a few of them, and they also found a small cyst near his liver in my 20 week US, so then I was referred to an MFM, and had to have monthly ultrasounds to keep track of it. I also had 2 stress tests right before I delivered.... Insurance covered all of it.

@mediagirl: i didn't have extra fluid. But did have high BP at the doctors sometimes and gd so I have several extra ultrasounds throughout my pregnancy and they were all covered no problem. Generally as long as there is a medical need they're covered

DS1- no, I went into spontaneous labor at 38w 6d
DS2- not sure? I was heavily monitored due to a placenta previa, which moved @34 weeks. I think I had a lot of monitoring of the heart. I went in to see my OB @ 38w 3d when I was having contractions on and off and lost my plug. I was admitted to the hospital a few hours later (late afternoon) and he was born by the next early morning.
