I didn't with DS1. I took the 1 hour test this morning and was SOOO out of it. I had coffee before the test, but no food. Ate right after I got home. But all of a sudden came down with the worst headache, nausea, and chills.
It's passed for the most part now, but I'm really exhausted despite having slept well last night!

@mrsjyw: I had pretty much the same reaction. I felt terrible all day. And the same after the 3 hr, but worse, because I had to wait so long to eat

That's exactly how I felt and I've heard other people say the same thing. I think your body probably produces (releases?) tons of insulin to counteract the crazy sugar and just bottoms out your blood sugar. With my second LO I brought a PB sandwich to eat immediately afterwards and it was so much better. I passed both times.

Yeah. I had my mom come down when I had to do it for my second pregnancy. I could not get off the couch, sooo tired after the sugar crash. Food didn't help, just sleeping and letting it pass. I felt nauseous, dizzy and sooooooo tired.

No but my doctor told me to make sure to eat a bland breakfast beforehand. I had a bowl of raisin bran and some toast and felt totally normal.

Hope you feel better! I was ok after the one-hour, but the three-hour hit me like a ton of bricks this time. The drink made me really nauseous, and I was dizzy and seeing spots for two days. Yuck!

Most recently, I had a massive headache. I was also tested really early this pregnancy since I had GD with my son.

I didn't experience any negative side effects after the one-hour test. The only difference I noticed was that the baby was more active than EVER later that night. Like, it was insane.

@mrsjyw: yes! I had no symptoms with DD1 but with the one I took last month for this pregnancy I felt so out of it and sick feeling I ended up taking a 6 hour nap.

yes I passed out halfway through the test! I felt myself shaking and blacked out as the nurse got me onto a recliner in the test room. was horrible and I'm not looking forward to it again. I was a zombie the rest of the day.

With pregnancy #1 I was pretty strict paleo and the glucose test really made me feel sick after about 45 minutes. I went to the bathroom 3 times thinking I had to throw up but each time someone yelled at me "you have to start over another day if you vomit." I ended up doing calisthenics in the waiting room to try to feel better. I felt sick the rest of the day.
Pregnancy #2 I haven't been eating as low sugar as #1 and it didn't bother me at all.

I fainted during the blood draw. The midwife gave me sh*t about it because I said I don't faint during blood tests. Maybe if she hadn't of been digging around to find the vein I wouldn't of fainted for the first time ever.

I just felt off for the day. A little nauseous, a little cloudy headed, a little upset stomach. Didn't feel better until I was able to eat dinner at night. (My test was early afternoon so I had eaten high protein for breakfast, snack and lunch)
