The other thread on vaccines today reminded me that my husband has never had chicken pox. I'm not sure if he's been vaccinated for it as an adult, either, now that I think about it.

I found that unusual since I had it when I was six and thought most people in our generation had it! I remember that it went through my school and they closed down school for a few days since so many students were out.

I just looked it up quickly and evidently the vaccine was first used in the US in 1995 which would mean the vast majority of us were young when there was no vaccine.

Did you have chicken pox as a kid or did you avoid that childhood illness entirely like my husband did? If you didn't get it, have you been vaccinated as an adult?
