When I was younger I used to be into the whole "emo" or "punk" looking guys... Now that I look back I have no idea why. I ended up marrying a cowboy! The last type of person I would have thought I would end up with hahaha.

While I didn't marry my "type" of ethnicity that I had always gone for, I wrote up my "dream husband" about 5 years ago and I married the him on that list (all 2 pages worth and more) in April.
So yes & no. lol

Not at all! I was into the whole outgoing skater guy. I ended up marrying a super shy guy who has never skated in his life.

In the major ways yes. I've always liked my men smart, funny, sweet, and slightly goofy. Personality has always been more important to me than looks, but my husband ticks the dark hair, nice nose, cute butt boxes too!
In terms of my "checklist" though, I always said being a college graduate was non-negotiable. And whilst I've always loved British accents, I never imagined I'd actually marry a non-American

I had always dated really big guys. Which my husband def fits that description. However, I always dated the stereotypical gym meathead, My husband is sweet caring and considerate. That's probably why it worked. I needed to switch it up!

Sort of. I usually went for the bad boys. He's more of the boy next door, but with a liiiiiittle bit of a bad boy streak? So maybe he's the bad boy next door, ha!

As far as qualities, yes. Oh and he's tall - I am more into height than anyone I know. Maybe because I'm a tall lady. Lol. But this may sound weird...he's more "blue collar" than anyone thought I would end up with. Maybe that sounds snotty but other guys I dated were more the lawyer, suit and tie to work "type." He's more of the "I get dirty at work and love it" type. Lol. It's amazing how well it works - he calms me down, he's so Type B and I'm so Type A that we balance eachother out. I sound rambly, but you get the idea. Lol.

I have always been attracted to men with brown eyes and seemed to fall for the "bad boy" type. Ha. Well, my husband has brown eyes and he certainly had a bit of a reputation as a "bad boy" in highschool, but really he is a teddybear

My dream man checklist went like this: blue eyes, athletic, engineer-type dude, and same religion (which was pretty important to me).
Then I met DH. Blue eyes? Nope, they're as brown as they come. Athletic? If playing NHL12 on the PS3 counts.... Engineer? Actually, he's a mechanic and a farmer and he's as smart as they come. Religion? No dice there either when we first met.
But I am incredibly lucky because he is so much more than I could have ever dreamed of! He honestly knows me better than I know myself sometimes. He's smart and hardworking and I love, love, love that he's a farmer. He started going to church after he met me and he told me that he was so happy to find a girl who thought that was important too. Most of all, I know he loves me with every fibre in his body.
PS. Oh and I LOVE his brown eyes.

I married a "nice Jewish boy." I also didn't realize he was my type until I met him, he's the opposite of my high school / college boyfriend. But so much more my type.
