Did you marry the type of guy you usually were attracted to/went after?
My answer? Nope. Lol. I usually dated big, tall artsy guys. DH is none of those things. But being an athletic, smart, smaller, southern man was plenty enough for me! I'm glad I wound up with the type of guy like him. I'd say the same goes for DH. I'm not really his type either.

I'm not really his type, though. He likes older ladies, lol, and I'm only a year older than him.

DH is totally my "type" as far as what I like, but just between us girls, he's even a little out of my league! There's literally nothing I would change, alter, or improve about him:) I hate to sound all gushy and gross about him...But he's basically a way better catch than I would have ever imagined being capable of. Like in every area possible. I really pulled off an upset by snagging him.

Nope. With the exception of my high school boyfriend my type trended towards "moody poets" (as my father nicknamed them). DH is athletic, super smart, goofy/funny...a class clown. I fell in love with him because he made me laugh..at myself and him.

Yep! Totally married my type! Tall, broad, muscular/fit, strong! I've always wanted someone with his features too. Eyes, nose, lips, ears, hair..!

Yes and no. Before meeting DH, my type was every girl's ideal type. Tall, handsome, successful, says the right things, knows how to romance a girl, etc. But he had to be nerdy and Asian or part Asian.
Later I realized that often times, these traits lead to a guy that's 1) a player 2) cocky 3) egotistical 4) used to getting everything his way 5) socially inept 6) defined by his job.
DH is a normal guy that wouldn't know how to romance a girl if his life depended on it. I know now that's a good thing He's not at all Asian. He doesn't try to prove anything, he's really, really low-key. He has a job he loves and good at, and knows that, in itself, is success. He helps around the house, doesn't expect me to be at all perfect, he bakes, gardens, cooks, takes care of LO. Witty. He's seriously perfect for me and has all the inner qualities and quirks I never knew existed, so I never sought it out. He's like my favorite book character that I never knew really existed.
So I guess he is absolutely my type, but I didn't know myself well enough to realize what "my" type actually was years ago. I'm so glad I finally woke up when I did!

Physically, yes and no. My type is totally baby faced and wagon sr definitely is. I always wanted a tall guy but we're the same height. Non looks wise, he's exactly my type.

Yes and no... I think many of my tastes changed as I continued dating him... I never thought I'd end up with someone so opposite me, and it both complements and annoys me lol
But I appreciate our differences more than ever.
Some of my biggest musts were: cooks, sensitive, good listener, shares my personal beliefs, good with kids, has integrity, is honest and can support me. He is all that and more

Nope, not looks-wise anyway. I love tall, blonde, long-haired, tattoos, skinny, blue or green eyed boys. Hes skinny... But not one of those things. He also has body hair (hes Italian, its to be expected) which I hate... on everyone else. On him, it doesnt bother me.
Personality-wise, hes my type. Hes a nerdy musician, has a good sense of humor, intelligent, has varied interests.
We clash in the family values category. His upbringing was very different from mine.

He is definitely my type! He is tall, tan, muscular, has dark hair and light eyes. All of those are my ideal. I'm really fortunate because he has a great personality too.

Nope. But like anonysquire, my type was not working for me at all. This works so much better. I married someone who is similar to me, but we complement/contrast eachother perfectly. Instead of someone I thought was "cool" or "tall". (My DH is cool and tall but that isn't why I'm with him. He could be lame and short and we'd still be a good match. haha.)

I totally married my type: tall, skinny, sarcastic, funny, creative. But at least he's a successful creative type, so my dad approved finally!
Physically, I'm totally his type - petite brunette. I've met a couple of his exes and we could be sisters. WEIRD.

I didn't think I had a type, but dh is physically very similar to 2 of the 4 other guys I dated, so I guess I did, and he is the type!

Physically yes.... tall, dark, handsome, athletic and buff. Personality wise not exactly. Before DH I dated a lot of jocks who were pretty cocky and just arrogant overall. DH isn't like that at all! He's more shy, laidback, and kind.

Hmm...I always thought I would end up with someone Hispanic/Latino, since like 3 of the guys I dated were. Dh is is not, lol. But he is tall and funny, which were qualities I always liked. He's also very smart/cerebral which I find attractive.

@Crumbs: Wagon Sr. and I always talk about the fact that if he were tall, he'd be seriously egotistical and I'd be so turned off. I think his height kept him humble his whole life. He's handsome, charismatic, intelligent and naturally muscular BUT he's short so that chip on his shoulder has always kept him grounded.

No not at all.
DH is very different from anyone else I dated before him. We are opposite in alot of ways but also very similar in ways that matter. I think my "type" changed as we dated. Honestly after our first date I thought I would never go out with him again but here we are 4 years later and happily married :).

NOT AT ALL! I was into "bad boys". The guys I dated were older so they attempted to put off a rough, tough, hard shell but when with me they were nice and soft in the middle My friends crack jokes about it and say I went from short, black and ghetto to tall, white and square. I kept telling the girls at work I didn't know if it was going to work out because he was to nice.

Personality wise, yes. I've always been attracted to guys that are smart and a little on the geeky side but still cool. Almost every guy I have dated has been into extreme sports (or what was once considered extreme) like snowboarding, surfing, wake boarding, etc.
Looks wise, my DH is definitely more fair and a little shorter than my usual type but he's still the hottest man I've ever known!!!
