...have natural births or do they deliver with medications?

I'd say around here, in my circle, it's a lot more accepted to have natural deliveries. I've been told before that epidurals will affect your nursing relationship both immediately and long term and my husband's coworker told him yesterday she was afraid to have an induction specifically because pitocin causes autism. This was after he had told her our DD had to be induced at 42 weeks.

I had a 36 hour active labor with DS and ended up having to get an epidural at hour 31 and it helped me avoid a c-section! I also had one with DD even though I probably didn't need it for such a short labor - I just wanted it! My friends have told me "oh don't worry, I'm sure you can have a natural birth next time" and my husband even told someone that I was pretty wimpy with pain so I had them with epidurals. (That really hurt me!!) Anyways, it's definitely a lot more respected to deliver naturally around here which just drives me crazy because I think women should be allowed to give birth however they want and that they should be respected for going through labor regardless of how they deliver!

What's normal in your circle?
