LO is almost 2 and since she started getting most of her nutrition from solids, I would always try to offer a fruit, veggie, protein and grain. So a typical meal would have at least 4 components.

Lately, though, I've been giving her just one "main dish" and a side. Like an average day would be Cheerios with milk & blueberries for breakfast, a turkey sandwich and grape tomatoes for lunch, and whatever I made for dinner - say lasagna & salad - for dinner with a clementine for "dessert." She also has 2-3 snacks like cheddar bunnies, raisins, and yogurt. (And this is a "good" day... when we don't go to Chick Fil A. )

I feel kind of guilty that I haven't been doing a smorgasbord of nutritious items but I am getting burned out on preparing so much food for her to just be picky!
