We have one and we use it when people come over because our kitchen table only accommodates 4. It's my favorite room in the house because it never never never gets messy!

Yes. It has my great aunt's dining room table and buffet cabinet in it.

I have a formal dining room, but it isn't very formal. It's lacking in furniture, and it only has the basic table with chairs. We eat every meal in our dining room because there isn't enough room in our kitchen.

Yes, but the room is used as storage
I really, really need to do something about that, but I just don't have the time and energy. We eat upstairs in the family room.

@raintreebee: @mrbee - Actually a lot of older apartments in buildings built before World War II in NYC have dining rooms. I have a friend with a dining room. They're out there! I actually just want a real dining area right now instead of shoving the table we have against a wall. Hopefully, in my next place.

Nope, not enough room in this house. I didn't grow up with one, so I suspect it would get underused anyway.

Yes, but we don't have an eat-in kitchen. We use it everyday for breakfast and supper!

Yes, and what a waste of space. We use it once a year for Thanksgiving. We should have turned it into an office instead.
