Yes. It's mainly for our alarm system, but I have noticed that I do miss certain cell phone calls in parts of the house, so I like to have the landline for that. Recently, I had to call the doctor emergency line for my son and I missed all the calls from the doctor to my cell phone, they didn't ring at all! So I use the landline for that and work related calls now.

We have one bc of the alarm system. We got the cheapest option available. However, we actually don't have a phone to plug it in so we don't use the number. No idea what the number is either.

Yes; we have a package with FIOs. DH insisted on a land line in case of emergency situations if there is no cell reception, cell phones are dead, etc.

I had wanted to get rid of it, but it really doesn't save us much without so we've just kept it.

@Foodnerd81: We have it as part of a bundle with our internet provider. We do not have cable (that was the big money suck).

We have one. I was adamant we have one for the 9-1-1 factor heaven forbid. That way they know our exact address if a call comes in, versus cellphone a 400m or so radius.

We had issues with our provider in the summer and it went out on us, and my "thing" about landline to hubby was that it never went out. Well didn't it go out for two days, completely our provider's fault, and they couldn't tell me why so I called to cancel. We now have it for free for the rest of our time with them Provider is also internet, TV and one cell provider.

We do through ATT. It's such a rip off, but gives DH piece of mind for emergencies. We never use the phone, so I personally feel like we are just giving our money away.

We have a landline through ooma. It's basically free. I think we pay $4 for tax/month. We rarely use it, but had to get it to pass inspection when we built our house.
