I have no idea what the girls will be for Halloween yet! A's first year she was a monkey, and last year we bought her the cutest mouse costume from Carter's. I don't think I want to buy new again because $25-$30 for a one day costume is a bit much and this year it will be times two! Hoping the consignment has some cute stuff this year.
Any idea what your LO will be for Halloween this year?

She's going to be a kitty. A friend gave us a long sleeve black tee, I have black leggings and I need to make or buy a black tutu. I'm going to put white fluffy fabric on the front of the shirt to give her a white belly and possibly white paws, too. 
I just need to find ears, which I'm sure will be easy to find come Halloween time. I'll make the tail.

No clue!! He isn't into that many things yet so I have no inspiration. Maybe I'll look for a mickey costume or something...I don't think many people would "get it" if I dressed him like Daniel Tiger, lol.

My kids have opinions which makes it hard 
DD wanted to be a princess then she changed her mind to iron man, then santa claus!
DS wanted to be Lard Vadar (angry birds), then a werewolf and now a skeleton!

I think DD (2 years old) is going to be a dinosaur. Or Doc McStuffins. She doesn't really "get" the whole costume thing, but lately has been OBSESSED with pretending to be a dinosaur and roaring, so I think she would be into that as a costume.
Last year she was a bumblebee and hated dressing up!

I gave my 3 yo the choices of pirate girl, 50's car hop and witch last night by showing her three costumes on line. She picked the witch. I knew she would it was the only costume that had purple which is her current favorite.

A vampire. DS is obsessed with the movie Hotel Transylvania. We're just going to put him in a dress shirt and pants, and I'm going to make or buy a cape and slick back his hair.

I prebought costumes and shouldn't have - I thought she was going to be a cute pig but my piglet has outgrown her costume 
so I'll be finding something else.

D's dad has him this year, for Halloween, so I dont' know, and it's not my problem this year.
M has a Ninja Turtle costume and also a giraffe that is a bit warmer, depending on the weather that evening.

She was an elephant her first year. Then she was a mouse last year and I made her a giant cookie bag so she could be "if you give a mouse a cookie."
My LO will most likely be what almost every other little girl is going to be - Elsa. My inlaws are at Disney right now and looking for a costume bc they are sold out online and have been for months.

I'm tempted to just get them Halloween PJs and call it a day. Halloween costumes are expensive considering I'd just put them in them for a photo op. They'll be almost 6 months at Halloween.

I bought a Carter's black cat costume for last year on clearance when my DD was just under 5 months old, and then I also bought an 18m carters costume from a girl in my town for this year, but it is the grey and pink cat instead. It was only $8, I love resale groups for my area on facebook.

I want to dress DS up as mr potato head, and be a potato head family. DH isn't crazy about the idea so we will see!

@sandy: The Elsa costumes are available through the Halloween stores. I know like Halloween Spirit and Halloween Express online have them. In case your parents strike out at Disney.
I'm the mean mom that didn't give C the Elsa and Anna options. I know we will see many of those this year and I wanted her to have something different.

I really want DS to be Max from Where the Wild Things Are but the costumes I've found are all too heavy for our climate so I'll have to rethink.

I want to dress DD as Dalmatian and take her trick or treating on her little Hook and Ladder ride on fire engine. She loves puppies, so I'm hopeful she'd enjoy it. Plus I'm due a week later, and she's less likely to want me to carry her with her truck there!

Probably a pumpkin, as we were handed down a costume that should still fit her. I feel like a boring mom, though, since she wore a pumpkin hat last year. And I can still remember that I was a pumpkin both years of preschool because MY mom had a costume that still fit and took the easy way out! I'll make up for it with awesome homemade costumes when she is old enough to understand- I used to help my little sisters make costumes since my mom isn't into it.
@twodoghouse: C just wore a 'Mommy's little pumpkin" onesie and striped leggings (hand me downs) and the pumpkin hat last year. She was about 3 months old and at the peak of her fussiness, so I saw no reason at all to wrangle her into an uncomfortable costume just for me to see how cute she looked crying in it. No regrets on that one.

@MamaG: we've seen some other Elsa costumes but don't really like them. The Disney one is beautiful. I totally feel that way (she's going to be one of a million Anna/Elsa characters) but she's 2.5 and it's what she loves so I'll let her be what she loves bc at this age it's magical to her . When she's older I'll try to encourage more unique costumes

DD is super into Abby from Sesame Street so once I finish the DIY projects for her birthday I'll figure out how to put that together. Most people won't get it but she will love it and that's what matters!
