Nope. My VM is full right now because I refuse to clear all 20 messages just for them to fill up again in two weeks.
Work VM is different. That is cleared timely!

Yes - I love voice mails!
Sure, texts and emails are slightly more convenient, but really it takes more time to type out a message and read it than it does to leave a/listen to a voice mail. Although I guess voice mails lend themselves better to rambling, but I don't mind that.
I moved away from friends and family, and while we keep up via text/email/social media, it's just nice to hear their voices every once in a while. I do not have time for Skype, and rarely have time to sit and chat on the phone, so we usually just play voice mail tag and leave voice mails back and forth

I prefer a text when someone is leaving me instructions, like directions or whatever. This way I can easily refer to it, rather than try to find a pen to write it down...although, I suppose I could write myself a note on my phone.
I tend not to listen to voicemails if my mom leaves them, I just call back.

I haaaaate voicemail. They just really tick me off for some reason. Just send me a damn text or an email, Im guaranteed to see that.
I love that my new job doesnt have voicemail. The president said it's because she feels like its bad customer service to just foist people off on a voicemail service and not having one makes us pick up the phone and talk to the person (if the phone rings, whoever is in the office answers. No exceptions. It's not just one person's job).

Yes I do listen to voicemail. I don't like talking on the phone so if I listen to the voicemail I often don't have to call the person back, I can just text whatever answer it is that they need. (Or at least know if they need a call back urgently or I can wait until it is convenient).
It also annoys me if I do leave a voicemail for someone and they call me back rather than listening to it. In general if what I want to say could be said via text-- I wouldn't have called in the first place. I hate the phone so I'm only calling if I have a reason to call. But at the same time that doesn't necessarily mean that I need a call back at all or right away. Usually this happens when I need to request something too long winded for text or if I'm driving. The person this happens most frequently with is my husband. Like I'll be out running errands and decide to pop into the grocery store. So I'll call him (because I'm driving and it is dangerous to text) to find out if he wants or needs anything. Except he doesn't answer so I leave a voicemail saying "Hey I'm headed to the grocery. I won't hear my phone if it rings in the store but I'll check my texts before I check out so just text me what you want." But then he sees I called and just calls me back without listening to the message. But I don't get the call and don't see he called until I'm about to check out (and the grocery store is the MOST annoying place to try to make a call because I never get service and LO is always grabbing for my phone because I wear her)...
So yea. If I leave you a message, just listen to it. And then text me back if requested so I don't have to talk to you

My parents actions made me hate voicemail. When I moved out on my own I had a personal cell, a house phone and a work blackberry. They would regularly call each one and leave a long rambly voicemail on each saying the same exact thing.
I hate to admit this, but I still have a work blackberry and the voicemail box has been full for over 2 years. I don't even know how to check them. It's rare that I use it as a phone though and I get tons of telemarketing calls and bill collectors for the person who owned the number before me. We are actually switching to iphones in a few months so hopefully the problem will resolve itself.

I absolutely hate voicemails. I never listen to them, unless they're from an unknown number. A missed call is enough to indicate "call me back", and a text is an effective way to send a quick message if you need something other than a callback.

every voicemail i've ever received is "hey, it's me, call me back". I HAVE CALL DISPLAY. i listen to my voicemails to get rid of the stupid little icon. i have to tell my parents weekly to stop leaving me voicemails... i'll take it one step further... PLEASE JUST DON'T CALL ME EVER. haha.

@Synchronicity: I wish I could removeVM from my phone entirely. That would be lovely!
@loveisstrange: One of my old customers did that at her business. Once in a meeting she heard the phone get to the 4th ring and she stopped mid-sentence to make sure her employee picked up. Not only did they take all calls the phones were clearly not allowed to ring off the hook.

I have voicemails on my iPhone dating back to 2011. I just discovered yesterday that you can left swipe and delete them.
So, that's how I feel about voicemails.

Um never! Nobody really leaves them for me anymore except my grandmother and FIL.

Wow, I don't get why people wouldn't listen to voicemails? What if it was something important!? Even if it's a friend or family member calling and you assume it's just to say "Hi" or whatever...what if there's that one instance where it's something really important? I mean I text a ton but I'd never text someone about, say, a health emergency. It would annoy the crap out of me if someone just plain old didn't have a voicemail.

I *hate* voicemail. I wish it would die already, especially VM that just say “it’s me, call me back!” Yeah, no shit. I have caller ID like everyone else in the entire world. I know you called. I mostly listen to voicemails because I only get them from family and I assume they have something important to tell me. I can figure out within the first 5-10 seconds or so if they are just rambling or if there is purpose to the message.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: My boss has a 2 ring policy. If it rings twice, it needs to be picked up NOW.

I like voicemail even though it is inconvenient and slightly annoying at times. It is authentic no edit/ad lib stream of consciousness of my beloved friends whom I've given my number to. I like the personalization and vulnerability of making mistakes and rambling on voicemail. But thank God for texting bc there is a time and place for everything.
