Summer clothes are my weakness. We have 3 months of hot weather and probably enough clothes for 6-7 months
The LO's are covered in coats during the winter so I don't get to have fun with their wardrobe during those months!

No, I only buy when I see they have a specific need. So if I am going through drawers and see "Oh, W only has 1 pair of shorts that fit her right now," I will go out and buy 2 pairs of shorts as needed. I don't buy in advance!

Oh yes, I bought what would have been a normal amount of clothes. But we got so many gifts and hand me downs she easily has 2x of what she needs thru 18 months.
I buy really good deals for things she will always need (like $3 shirts at Old Navy) or for a specific need.

Our summers are pretty brutal so we spend a lot of time indoors. Last year I bought so many dresses we didn't even wear. This summer she's mostly in shorts and T-shirts. I tend to over buy for fall though, love fall clothing!

generally no...but somehow right now, I have more summer clothes than I really need. I bought just two shorts sets/2 dresses/1 romper to be her summer capsule wardrobe.
But then my mom visited and brought 4 more summer outfits. And then I was cleaning out LOs closet to make space for baby, and found a bunch of clothes from DHs family that were way too big last year, with all the tags still on--and they fit her perfectly now.
So I thought I was being minimal with my capsule summer wardrobe, but now it's grown to like 15 summer outfits. whoops.

I tend to buy when I need things, and somehow I am always short on bottoms and have way too many tops.
I never have enough socks, underwear and shoes for my son.

I am the opposite- I try to just barley buy what she absolutely needs! It is tricky though, because casualties happen- like her boots got soaked and shrunk... so spares are good!

@Greentea: I am the same! I never want to overspend on kids' clothes because they outgrow them and ruin them so quickly!

Spring/Summer. I just can't resist with all the awesome graphic tees from IG Mama shops! (ahem, Wire and Honey!)

Nope! I want to because there is so much cute stuff, but practicality wins out. We were given so many things for DD1, and most of it is still in great condition for DD2, so I can't justify buying much.
