So we were at Target, and I let LO (13 months) roam and play with the toys he could reach. He was more interested in pushing his stroller around, but he did press a few toys here and there and played with the popper push toy. I didn't intend to buy anything, so.....felt kinda guilty! Does anyone else do this?

DD is 2 years old and I let her play with the toys that are on display that is meant for playing with. She hasn't asked me to buy anything...I'm not sure she understands the concept yet.

I don't have a kid old enough to play with toys, but I don't see any reason to be feeling guilty about it. They make the boxes open to try out for a reason, and just because you didn't buy it today, if there was something he really loved, there's no reason you couldn't just file it away in your mind to buy later for birthday/christmas or something.

no, only because my LO is 7 months and it would go right in her mouth and then i would definitely buy it!

I do sometimes, but only stuff that's hanging out in the open (I.e. not in a box). He never seems to really care though

I have, but I do make sure she doesn't shove it in her mouth. I figure that at this point she won't mind too much either.

Yep! My dd bee lines straight for every ball or object that resembles a ball, and usually I'll just let her hold one. Sometimes we do give in and buy one if they are cheap, but most times inlet her hold it knowing I'm going to make her put it back. She's still the sweet age that I can say " say bye bye to the ball" and she will put it back and blow it kisses, but I know this won't last forever!
