yep! we have huge families and love receiving cards as well, so we order around 100 cards to send to family and friends! it's crazy and i'm trying to get more organized this year with addresses so i'm not hand addressing 100 cards!

Yep! I love getting them, so I like to send them, too

Every year since we got married! Designing our cars each year is so much fun and I love receiving cards from others (which happens a lot less if you don't send them out).

Yes! I'm not much for normal mail but I love love sending and receiving Christmas cards! I've sent them out most years for the last 10 years or so, even before I was married or had kids.

We plan to now that LO is here (photo Christmas cards) but that is just the plan. We need to take a photo before that time.. Hopefully that happens!

Yup! I take the pictures myself each year and design the cards. Already have an idea for this year's.

Yes. Although it got really pricey posting to England so we stopped. We will definitely start again next year when the amount we need to send overseas will be significantly reduced.

We did last year just because we had a fall baby and did not do a birth announcement.

Yup, we do. We are across the country from our friends and family and like to do road trips so it's pretty much a tradition to take our Christmas photo in a different place. With the twins here, we are going to try to stay local. Trying for a Seattle skyline photo but if it's too cold, we might have to do an indoor photo.

I do now that we have a LO. Before I only did sporadically. Now we do a photo card with her picture and I love getting my friends' cards. C LOVES them and we still have last year's in a pile for her to look at.
That said this year we will do a combination birth announcement/ holiday card, but baby isn't due until mid December so the cards may well go out in January. I don't think anyone will mind.

Yes, we started sending out Christmas cards when we moved into our house together. Since starting a family, our cards now include photos of our kids.

Yes, always. Even this year (post divorce) I will still send them with DD and I. It is so classic to me and I LOVE receiving them, too.

No, I love getting them, but it's just one thing I can't add to my plate right now and stay sane. My husband always says we should, I told him that he is more than welcome to take it on

Yes, since we had kids. We do photo cards, and I'm not a fan of sending "couple" cards.
grapefruit / 4355 posts
We never have before, but we always said that when we had kids we would start. So I guess this year is the first year!

I always sent one to my grandparents in the past but no one else. Last year was our first Christmas with a LO so I made a simple card with his pic and mailed it to family and a few close friends.
honeydew / 7622 posts
Yes. But I cut down from over 100 to 65 last year and I'm glad we send less now.
grapefruit / 4903 posts
We send around 100, although the years my kids were born, their birth announcements did double duty. (They're December and mid-November babies.)

Love sending them out and receiving them, though last year was weird and almost everyone was super late with them and we didn't receive them until after we got home from our week-long family visit.

I have started doing New Years cards since it gives me a few extra weeks which is usually needed during the holiday madness!

Last year was the first year I sent them but we had moved away from family and friends so it was a nice way to keep in touch

Every year since we got married. I am going to use a pic of DS this year but want to wait to closer to December since he is growing so much.

No, we don't send mass greeting cards. We send cards to our parents picked specifically for them.
I don't plan to change things once LO arrives. We may enclose a picture in a printed card to our parents, but we won't expand our card list.
No offense to anyone, but I do not like photo cards are at all. Those would not get displayed in my house. Some of the ones I have seen are more like postcards anyway, which do not stand up on their own.

We had been doing a small quantity before having a baby but started doing a larger scale mailing with photos since having her. I love getting photo cards so I decided I wanted to participate!

I don't send a lot of mail, but this is one ritual that I really cherish.
pomelo / 5678 posts
No, but I would like to this year!
Mine would always be personal and hand created, hand picked, hand written, etc., and only to my dearest.

Can't vote. We do sometimes. It all depends how organized I am that year.

Yup. I work for a stationery and design company and use their designs. We offer some unusual formats which means the cards we send are usually pretty awesome.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
We never have! We continue to tack onto our parents picture, lol.
nectarine / 2973 posts
We haven't in the past but hopefully this will be our first year doing them. I love getting them so I figure I should send them out too!
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
I love receiving cards! I'm always bummed I don't receive as many as I send.
@birdofafeather: @rattles: 100???? Who are you sending them to???
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: come back next year. I prefer flat cards to folded!

@regberadaisy: we have over 30 to send to family alone! I've tried culling it down and will again but I order from my professional lab usually (gonna check out some recs from other bees from the where do you print thread) and I order in batches of 25, so if I can't get under 75, then i just keep people.
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: that's a shame! I love receiving cards from friends and family and seeing everyone! I can't think of a house I go to during the holidays that doesn't have cards up or out in some fashion from family and friends. I've seen some amazing displays and some people just have them on a platter on their coffee table and look through them. I like to keep them from the year before in my Christmas stuff and go through them when I'm putting out decorations. I keep close friends and family photo cards or years people got married/had a kid to remember!

@regberadaisy: My family is giant, and I've moved around a lot. Our parents have 18 siblings between them. Add our parents, grandparents and sibs for 13 more. We haven't sent any to cousins yet. Or any friends. I've lived in 4 countries and 6 states, so a couple of friends from each place and a couple of current friends, DH's friends... We have a hard time keeping it under 100, as crazy as it sounds.
