I was just wondering if people do this. It seems that there is now this unspoken rule that if you have kids, you have to send a photo holiday card. Maybe I'm making this up? If you have LOs now, do you feel that you must send out these types of cards? I'm sure many of you would send these out anyway. I'm wondering if I'm the only one that feels this "pressure". Mind you I am the weirdo thinking about this stuff who's still pregnant.

I think I sent out regular cards one year because I didn't get the photo cards started in time. For many of my friends, getting their christmas cards each year is the only time I get to see an updated photo of their kids/family. So I do like getting the photo cards. But I do miss non-photo christmas card shopping and looking at all the cute options available. I always liked the funny ones.

I love getting them, but have zero interest putting one together for our family. Too much work to get addresses together and mail everything out
My husband always wants to do them, I tell him to go ahead, but it never gets done. To be honest, everyone we would send a card to is on facebook, so I post photos there from time to time.

We don't send them out. Most years, I haven't been in a single picture anyway.

I did when my son was little, I stopped when he was about 4 (that also coincided with my divorce and could've had something to do with it

We haven't even taken Madailein to see Santa this year yet... I bought some nice Christmas cards and they're sitting in their box on the table still. -
We didn't send them out this year because it didn't fit in the budget, but hopefully next year.

Yes, I think that should be the rule. Kidding! I love getting them, though. I have to admit that I am disappointed when I receive a non-photo card from friends of mine with kids.

This will be DS's second Christmas and we haven't done photo cards. As much as I love receiving them, something always comes up and we don't do them.

I started doing photo cards since the year we got married. Mind you, I hate the pic we got this year, but I like to keep it in an album. And I LOVE getting the photo cards from everyone else! It is such a nice way to see how everyone's family (kids or not) are every year. I keep all the photo cards. The regular ones, not so much. They make for such a nice display too!

@BKCaribBaby: we never send holiday cards. We did this year because quite a few people told us that now that LO is here they were expecting cards with her photo. We totally caved under the pressure.

I like getting the photo cards, as it is usually the one picture a year I get of any of these kids.
As for me, I guess we'll see next Christmas what we do with LO here.

Nope. DH says he refuses to be "those people". Not sure what he means by that, but that's his reasoning.

Our LO isn't here yet, but most likely we will NOT be doing photo cards. I don't really like them and I know Hubs probably would refuse to pose for one anyway.
What my family has always done though is include pictures of the kids IN the card. So for my cousins that are school-aged, that means their annual school picture gets sent to us. I definitely prefer this because then I have a picture of the kid that's not Christmas-specific and I don't have to hold onto the whole "card" just for the picture. I will probably do the same with our kids.
PLUS, I like putting holiday cards on our mantle and bookcase, and photo cards won't stand on their own, which I find sooooooo annoying!
