The other day, I was reading about how former FL Gov Jeb Bush inserted himself in the Terri Schiavo court case. I asked my husband how he felt about the branches of government colliding over this case. His response: someone had to step in, my thoughts- were the courts already "stepped in" and settled the matter. What ensued was an eye opening discussion that perhaps my husband really did not want me to pull the plug if he had a medical trauma. My husband believes in medical miracles and wouldn't necessarily let me die either under similar circumstances.

When the Schiavo ordeal was happening I didn't follow it closely, but I knew enough about it to know I didn't like the Gov, Pres, and Congress meddling in it. This is the article I read: http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/01/jeb-bush-terri-schiavo-114730_Page5.html#.VMzbNaNOnFo

Do you trust your partner to respect your wishes if you suffer a medical trauma? What kind of care do you want?
