Ours never have, but we really don't have all that many that we have purchased. A lot of them still come from when we were growing up, things our parents gave us as gifts. I want to get some new, kid friendly ones this year, though! I just don't know what to get! I have toyed with doing bright colors, or possibly whites and golds, or dark green and bright red. I can't make up my mind, though. They are all so pretty! What do you have? Anything specifically kid friendly?

Nope! We buy a new one every year significant to the year. And then I pick up a few random ones I like at the end of the season.
Last year our tree was very top heavy....LOL. On the lookout for some kid friendly/shatter proof one down low as well! -
When we first got married I wanted to do a themed tree every year. I started out with a snow/ice theme, so all our ornaments were white, silver, or clear. We also get a new ornament every year so those go around the top part of the tree and are all assorted. So we got a white tree skirt with silver beads, white lights, silver garland, silver bells, white and silver glass balls, and a silver sparkly star for the topper. It all added up to so much so I redid the "let it snow" tree for several years. Then when we moved, I got a bigger tree and wanted to do something a little more stylish. So we did a matte red and green theme with plaid ribbons.
Now we have an even BIGGER tree and to cover it all we just use EVERYTHING. A bit of a mishmash but until we can afford to buy more themed decorations, that's just what it is!!

Nope just a bunch from my childhood and then ones from vacation spots. Now that I have kids I buy them each one based on their likes for that year - this year DD will get a princess one and DS will get Star Wars

I'm not sure where she got them, but my mom has felt ornaments that are very kid friendly! Unless I have some kid friendly ornaments we may just stick to garlands and lights this year.
ETA we don't have a theme to the few ornaments we have

I want to get a special ornament for LO's 1st Christmas but I'm looking for one that will blend it lol!

I have felt ornaments and also some woodland animals made out of natural materials.. I love the way they look and they can't hurt DD.

Our tree is mostly my ornaments from when I was growing up. DH commented on how he didn't have any ornaments, so Since we've been married, I've started making him a photo ornament each year (the cube kind) with photos of things we've done in the last year. When he realized I started that tradition (and it wasn't just a random gift) that was his favorite gift last year

We just have a total mish mash of stuff - the brighter the better! We get at least one new one a year, usually about five. I may have a problem
I think we will start letting LO pick out a new decoration each year, starting now.

Mine have been collected over time but are all very traditional red and gold. We have pine cones decorated when we were children, small toys, little boxes wrapped in christmas paper as well as some proper old ones from when my mum was little. I'd get sick of any mire sophisticated theme.

Our big tree is usually ornaments from our childhoods, plus cute ones we've picked together over the years. But we have a couple table top trees that are themed (snowmen, Cardinals baseball) because we got them pre-made at a fundraiser auction thing where the proceeds go to a local children's home.

I have slowly started to add "personalized" ornaments, we get DD one every year, and will do the same with DD2. Otherwise its more of a catalog looking tree.

No theme. I really don't like themed trees, it just seems impersonal to me. I have ornaments from when I was a baby and from when my dad was little as well as all sorts of ornaments we've (er, "we've" meaning I, lol) have accumulated over of the years. I put the breakable ones up near the top of the tree and the felt/soft ones down where LO could reach. (Knock on wood), so far she pretty much leaves the tree alone.

I have several different sets of ornaments, one is a silver sleigh bell collection that was started for me when I was born. I've also started one for my son, the theme is snowflakes. Then I have my woodland/rustic ornaments that I have collected over the years.

My theme is not really a theme, but we collect ornaments from everywhere we travel, so it's mostly just a mix of random ornaments from all over the place. The strangest one is probably a little cowbell I got in the Swiss Alps (I couldn't find ANY actual ornaments).

Nope! Everywhere we travel we buy a Christmas Ornaments so a lot of ours are from trips and vacations which we love.

DH and I both have our ornaments that we were given has kids and remember who gave most of them to us. He has a bunch of his Mom's as well.
We are buying R one every year too so she will have her own collection for her own tree one day. This year we are going to get her Minnie Mouse one, since she loves her!

When we first bought our house 5 years ago we had a house warming near christmas and asked in lueu of gifts everyone bring or make an ornament for our tree since we had no christmas decorations

My mom does a themed tree now that we're all out of the house. She gave us all of our childhood ornaments, so she bought all new stuff. She does shades of blue/teal/aqua with white and silver accents. It's so pretty!
I like a big ol' tacky tree. Big C9 lights and funky ornaments.

Hanukkah lights! (I'm Jewish, but my husband celebrates Christmas so we usually get a tree.)

Our main ornaments are traditional red/gold/white/silver, but we have some wildcards thrown in. We buy C a keepsake ornament every year too, and we have all of mine from when I was growing up, and a couple that C painted last year.
I love eclectic trees with lots of meaningful and keepsake ornaments.

I started out with mostly clear, silver, and metallic ornaments. I've slowly added more rustic, creams, and beige, wood, felt, etc. ornaments. Still overall, I prefer a neutral tree. Though I'm loving @Charm54:'s red and neutral tree so maybe I'll do that one year!

We have the ornaments we have from growing up, and D's ornaments he gets each year (and starting this year, M's). They're usually based on what he's into that year (last year he got a Lego Yoda!)

We have two trees every year, since we got married near Christmas. One is eclectic with a bunch of different meaningful ornaments from over the years, and the other is decorated with silver, pewter, mercury glass, and white ornaments that we used at our wedding reception. I love getting to celebrate our anniversary with it every year

Our theme is "memories" because our tree is filled with ornaments from everywhere we visit!
I started buying felt ornaments from target after we had Chloe & decorate the bottom half of the tree in anything unbreakable.

I buy ornaments as souvenirs when we travel, so ours overall has a travel/geography theme, but there are a lot of other random ones too.
We also have a set of glass ornaments hat were my parents first set - from when they got married in the 60s! -
Yeah, I stick to a theme. I used to do only gold and silver, then I changed it to teal, lime, silver, and gold (sounds awful, but was so pretty in person), and as of last year we went to red and gold, at my husband's request. He's hindu but kept complaining that it didn't feel like Christmas without red. I had to go out and buy a new tree skirt and everything. I can't find a good picture from the teal and lime days--this is the only one I can find, but it was before I added the tree skirt and matching mantle decorations.

I did!!!! For the last like 8 years. I went with a white, sliver, aqua/pool blue snowflake theme all form pier one. Now that DD is one i'm dying to do a rainbow of colors and decor.

Nope! We buy an ornament every where we travel. Our mother's buy us ornaments every year. We also have ornament from our childhood. I love our tree.

My ornament collection is largely handmade (by me and now LO) plus a few pretty things I've bought when the mood struck, so there isn't a theme for our tree beyond 'crowded'. I like an overstuffed tree!
However, our collection is getting to the point where I'm considering doing a mostly themed tree, with the addition of ornaments that are so special they must go on every year. The themes I've considered include birds, Santas, angels, etc., rather than a color scheme. I'm not sure that I can suppress my instinct to use ALL of the ornaments, though! I mean, I've spent a lot of time making and selecting these things and I like them, you know?
I may have to do two trees instead.
I think we will start letting LO pick out a new decoration each year, starting now.
