I rock/bounce my 5.5 month old to sleep so I don't worry too much about my apparent inability to pick up on his tired cues. He goes off to sleep without much trouble 1.5 hrs after waking and 2hrs of waketime later in the day.

I am getting prepared to sleep and nap train at 6 months. I know you're supposed to put them down as soon as they show tired signs, but I am really bad about noticing them until baby starts rubbing his eyes (a late sign I'm told). Or, baby will yawn minutes after waking up!

Do you go by tired signs? A set wake time? Or by the clock? What would you recommend I do to nap train??
