With social media it seems most things can feel competitive these days. Whenever someone gets married I sometimes think "I have to have a baby before them!" Childish, I know.

I don't feel competitive as much as I feel jealous.

I sometimes feel like that when I see moms preg with #2 whose #1s are younger than DS. Makes me feel like we're behind! Human nature, I guess!
And then I realize that we're still within our family spacing plan and snap myself out of it!

I'm starting to feel slightly jealous of ppl w/my ideal child spacing. TTC #2 is taking a lot longer than expected...

I used to feel that way. I would think but we're older/more financially secure/have been together longer, etc. I obviously don't anymore since we have changed our plans, but I definitely understand you feeling like that.

I have a frenemy from college... During my IF struggles, I got upset when other people I knew who got married after me announced they were pregnant, but I always said to myself, "As long as I get pregnant before (unnamed frenemy), I'll be okay." Terrible, I know! It ended up working out in my favor anyway. : ) I don't think she's even trying yet.

Engagements/marriages were a tough time in my life...whenever I got news of a new engagement, I would immediate calculate how much longer I had been in my relationship...so yeah, it wasn't the healthiest time of my life and I vowed if I ever did get to the point where I was TTCing, I wouldn't go there.
