Did you see my FB post? I complained. They gave me a new one. It works much better. The whole thing was lame. They said I shouldn't expect the 5 to perform like my 4s. Ridiculous!

Yes, mine is horrible. If I don't use it at all, it's still dead by 2pm. I'm usually out of battery by 11am. It looks like mine is eligible, but he closest store is an hour away.

Woohoo! I checked my DH's phone and he is eligible!
I'm trying to convince him to take my white phone, so I can use his eligible phone to upgrade to a phone with more memory. Do you think they'll let me upgrade his phone with more memory. I don't need a newer phone, I want the same phone but more memory. I'll pay for the extra cost.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: I got that for my phone, too. I understood it as maybe my phone was slightly newer than my DH's phone and that maybe my battery issue was fixed before I bought the phone. That's how I took it. I don't have huge battery issues. My DH's black iphone would turn off at the 20% (now it turns off at 10%). My white iPhone doesn't do that. I can use my phone unto 1%. Haha

Ooh, I hope mine is included. My battery drains so quickly - I can barely get through the early afternoon. It keeps giving me an error message when I try to check on my serial number, though.

Mine was replaced under that last year!
I took it in bc I couldn't deal with it anymore. It was still under the 1 year warranty so it was replaced then.

I have a 5 and it stays charged for such a long time. The battery life is so superior vs my Samsung Galaxy.

Thanks for this! Mine is also eligible and thank goodness we'll be back in the U.S. for vacation next week so I can make an appointment to get it changed. Mine isn't horrible, but isn't that great either, especially when I use Google maps for driving directions. It drains really fast. I do have to charge it once daily. Does anyone know how long it takes for Apple to change out the battery when you show up for your Genius appointment?

I thought he was crazy but now I see some iphones have a really bad battery issue. My battery drains fast and sometimes I need to have it plugged in to get through the day. Though, I am on it a lot and using data.

@erwoo: Oh, I think for any apps that use GPS, it's highly recommended that you plug it in. I guess those GPS apps, use a ton of battery life. I use the Waze app and was told from the start to make sure to have it plugged in.

I have a 5s and it's great (8 months old). But if I'm out all day and use it heavily, it will not last the whole day. On those days I always carry an external battery though.

@erwoo: It's a GPS app that is community driven. Like accidents, police, heavy traffic, construction, road closures can be reported and allow others to avoid the area. I love it. It's a free app but I would so pay for this app. It has gotten me out of sitting in traffic so many times. It can even re-route you if there is a faster route.

My husband always had trouble with battery life. When he complained at the Apple store (Chelsea or SOHO in NY), they just gave him a new phone. He was really pleased. The second phone ended up having the same problem, so he complained again a month or so later and got another one. The current one does better than the first two but still doesn't last as long as my older iPhone.
I'm a little worried that this might actually make it harder to get a phone or battery replaced (if it doesn't fall within the specified numbers). Before, all he had to do was complain about battery life to get an entirely new phone! Or maybe they will keep being wonderful about it--it can't hurt to give it a try!
