For the longest time, our daughter never answered Dora's rhetorical questions and silly exhortations ("Do *you* see the lollipop?" "Say, Arriba!!") But lately, she's started talking back to Dora and answering all of her questions! Well played, Nickelodeon... well played. You're actually teaching my daughter a little bit - I'm impressed!

She doesn't watch Dora, but there is another show that talks...Team Umi Zoomi? I may have butchered that, but she has talked to that one before.

She hasn't seen enough Dora for her to start talking back, but I was shocked when she'd literally seen ONE episode, and the next time I turned on the tv to some other cartoon, she recited a line from the Dora episode we'd watched a few days before ("A baby! A baby! A baby!"), matching the tone and inflection with scary episode.
It's creepy how well the writers can get into the heads of kids - and adults! I had the "fantastic gymnastics" song in my head for a good week after hearing it on the show. (And now I'm going to start singing it again - crap!)

Yes! But instead of answering the question, she says what boots says "Say map! Say map!" Or "backpack!!!"

He will repeat things she and other characters say and point things out but he doesn't answer her questions yet or follow her directions. Same for Kai Lan and Blues Clues and other shows like that.

I talk back to model, and I'm hoping she will soon. She stares at her shows, and I'd like them to become more interactive. Fingers crossed she catches on soon.

Any interactive shows. My DD talks back to them all. Even non interactive ones are talked to ex. Someone falls "oh no hurt. It's okay", someone cries "s/he cry. No don't cry. It's okay", someone disappears "s/he go away. Come back". She has gained a ton of words in her vocabulary with her tv time.

he hasn't seen Dora, but when he watches his favorite shows he sings the songs with them, and likes to talk about what he sees, or what is funny to him. It's pretty cute.

Yes, DD2 loves Dora and answers all the questions. I think she has learned a lot from the show!

She literally just did this for the first time. She told Dora who she was going to be for Halloween!
