We get a decent amount of hand me downs from my niece who is 5, some stuff is pretty wore so can't be used except for play clothes but some is in perfect condition! I still have to buy a decent amount but every little bit helps!

Nope, not at all because LO is the first baby on both sides on the family! We have some friends but their LO's are all around the same age...so no hand me downs!

Yep, my twin nephews are 10 months older so we got a ton of baby gear from them, our god daughter is 15 months older so we get lots of clothes from her, and our neighbors' grandkids are several years older so we have gotten a lot of great toys and outdoor toys that they have grown too old for. We are very, very lucky.

Yes, I am going to have way too many hand me downs for LO2. I'm kind of scared of the onslaught but really happy to not buy clothes. We've been all about the handmedowns for DD. She's in 3T now and I'm actually having to buy things. It's a bummer.

Neither of my kids get hand me downs.
I donate/give away all of their clothes and shoes after they've outgrown them.

We've got quite a few since he was born. My SIL texted me that she dropped off more clothes for LO from his boy cousins. I love hand me downs. We plan to hand me down LO's clothes after the next baby uses them. I'd save an outfit or two, but that's it.

Nope, there hasn't been a baby in the family in a long time. And most of our friends used them for their kids and/or are still using them!

WE did the first 18 months of her life from my sister, my niece is exactly a year older so it worked out perfect, but now they are pretty much the same size (her daughter is a shortie, and mine is tall) so we get a lot less. It was amazing in that first year though! My sister is a HUGE shopper so most of the stuff had been worn very little.

Yes, I get a lot of hand-me-downs from my SIl (Dh's sister). Not just clothes--everything: toys, books, big baby items.
I have a love-hate relationship. Sometimes I get frustrated because I've already picked out something (say, a baby bouncer) and then my in-laws come to visit and bring their old one. I'm happy to get it for free, but simultaneously sad it's not the model or color I prefer. a lot of the clothes are opposite season, because Dh's niece was born in December and my Lo was born in July. I just take all the clothes, and sort out what I think we can use and donate the rest.
In the end, I've decided the positives outweigh the negatives. Our nursery doesn't look like it came out of PBK, but we have spend far, far less on baby/kid items than pretty much anyone I know.

90% of both of my girls wardrobe is handme downs, I love them. Not my style clothes are their day care clothes.

No, we have no one to give anything to us, but I have made it a point to give things of my son's that don't work for us any more. Clothes not so much because my son wrecks them and they are pretty rags when he's done.

Yes, I have 3 nephews so the majority of our clothes are hand me downs, especially the big items like coats and dress clothes, sweaters, etc. The only items that I really buy are shoes, underwear and undershirts, socks.

For DS, none. For DD, we have enough clothes that were handed down to get her to age 2 (she's 4 months now).

My dad's co-worker gave us her son's clothes from newborn to 12 months. It was awesome! We supplemented with our own. When my BFF found out she was preggo with a boy that will be born a couple months after DS's bday, I gave her all my clothes. Hand me downs are awesome! I've had to buy all of DS clothes now.

Our neighbors gave us a huge box of girls clothes in 2T when they found out their 3rd and last child was a boy. It was so kind of them! The clothes were still in good condition even through 2 girls and LO wears them to daycare. Some of her fave outfits were from that box!
