We were playing at our neighbors pool today and DD1 jumped off the edge of the pool, onto the ledge below. Somehow, she ripped off her toenail. It took about 30 min to stop bleeding.
Do I need to take her to the pedi? Or should I wait it out? The only thing I'm worried about is infection. My one know how to treat it?

As long as it's clean, neosporin and a bandage and maybe some ibuprofen tonight.
My sister ripped hers clean off and the nail grew back weird for a few years but otherwise it healed normally.

I would definitely take her to the pedi. I have little to no medical knowledge, but that sounds like a substantial injury. Even if all they say is, "It'll grow back, don't worry about it!" I would still go to be safe.

You can go to the pedi to make sure but our LO 22 months lost her toe at school and they just told us it would take a month or two to grow back! Good luck!

Nails generally come back just fine. However there could be damage to the nail bed itself. I would check in with the doctor.
