It depends on when you're going and the weather imo. There's a nice downtown and lots of wandering to do and pubs/food to try, but I'm not sure how much of it is very kid oriented (no LO's, so I wasn't paying attention to that). We went in end of May and it was still cold, wet and pretty miserable (though we traveled around Ireland and did not stay in Dublin the whole time so I'm not sure how much it varies too) so I can't imagine being out all day with a toddler.

Sorry that probably didn't help much since I don't really remember details of what to see/do, but for me, if the weather is decent at that time of year, I were on the east coast, so that it was a relatively short inexpensive flight, especially if LO didn't need his/own ticket, even if it wasn't on your must see list, I think everywhere is worth experiencing esp if hotel and maybe food is covered. (Though I'm someone who went to Taipei for a week and a half just because DH was there for work so I figured I'd go check it out even though it wasnt on my list either, but I know everything kinda changes with a 2 yr old... )

I loved Kilkenny. We rented a car and went down there for 2 nights and explored the castle and the town. Very cute and a pretty river walk area. It is very hilly and terraced, so a stroller might not work, just a heads up.
