My 4 month old has fairly bad eczema. He will have flair ups all over his body, which we've mostly been able to stay on top of with a combination of moisturizing, mustela body products, and using dreft newborn detergent. However, the worst spot is covering his entire right cheek. About a month ago we had to go into the pediatrician for an antibiotic, because he scratched it, and it got infected. Since then it will get somewhat better and then flair up again. It is really difficult to get him not to scratch it - especially when he's at daycare - and he essentially rubs it raw. It has been particularly bad lately - it looks awful and I feel awful about it . We file his fingernails daily and have him wear scratch mittens at night, but not all day since he's at an age where he loves grasping things. We are taking him back to the pediatrician in the morning, but I would love any tips on what has worked for others...
