We need to replace MIL's graco. It only goes up to 30 lbs and E's close to maxing it out. MIL uses it for sleepovers and we borrow it for travel(which we don't forsee needing anytime soon). And she hates it. She's still rear facing at 2 and I want her to be for at least another year.
MIL has a CRV and still has two boosters in the back for my niece and nephew, too...
Any affordable recommendations?

Graco My Size/Headwise/Size4Me. We have one and really like it. C is 40" tall and can still RF in it. It's actually the tallest RFing seat on the market and goes to, I think, 40 or 45lbs when RFing.
Babies R Us has them on sale right now for $150, too.

@blackbird: Yeah. Its actually a really great seat. The ladies on CSFL recommended it to me, since C is so tall. Its super easy to install, and adjust. We've been happy with it. We have this one.

@blackbird: No, it's the next step down, i think? Ive heard good things about that one too, though! The "clone" at Walmart is the Fit4Me or Size4Me, I think. I dont remember which they call it.

I have the same as @loveisstrange: The Graco Size4Me 70 (although I think the new ones are only rated to 65 lbs). We love ours.

We have this one in my mom's car and in my car. It's really easy to loosen and tighten the straps. My mom hasn't had any issues with it.

@blackbird: We have the Safety First Guide 65 and love it. We actually have the Eddie Bauer one from Target because we had a gift card, but someone told me it's exactly the same as the one from Amazon and Walmart that's a little cheaper.

Depending on how long you can wait, a new safety first seat is coming out with a 50 pound rear facing limit. I believe it is coming out in April at about the same price point as the graco clones (my ride).

It's about 5" wider than than the Evenflo, so I think it's going to be too bulky to go between two boosters that have cup holders on them! Thanks for the rec, though! Looks like a good seat, but I know my niece and nephew's boosters aren't narrow.
@Smurfette: @lawbee11: Thanks! this one is definitely the most narrow! Glad it's easy to use, too. DH always has to install it for MIL....

@blackbird: its a BIG seat, I just assumed thats what you get when you have an ERF seat because its the only one we've ever had. In my pilot it takes up a lot of room in the second row, though we have had 3 seats back there before.

@jetsa: we're spoiled in our cars because our foonfs will go 3 across! But i'm not dropping that kind of dough for a carseat used once or twice a month 
I know I can use a Diono Radian if i want to go up to $200....but...meh. On Fridays, she takes my nephew to school and next year, my niece will go to school, too, so she has to be able to fit them all during a week.
I'll have DH measure the graco we currently have; I know it barely fits.

@My Only Sunshine: This is the seat we ended up buying because it was on sale and was really narrow--do you find that you have a problem with the release button? When we installed it, the button was kind of against the car and made it difficult to get released. My husband really fought to install it--it wobbled and didn't feel very stable for a bit. He declared it "garbage" unfortunately. I told him I'd like to take it in and have it professionally installed so we can see what the deal is with it. When he installs our Foonfs, they are rock solid and don't move. The Safety First seat didn't have a top anchor....and maybe that's because MIL's seats are a bit more bouncy and broken in than ours. Do you use a pool noodle or anything at the base?
