I officially scheduled my cable to be disconnected this Saturday...
I am trying to figure out the best things to get. We already have netflix and are for sure getting hulu. My question is I know some people get fire stick that are already set up with everything...all I really need is Disney Junior live for DS. And for sling tv users...thoughts?

We did two different things for Disney Jr. We had an AppleTV that my inlaws gifted us and we were able to use their cable login in to watch Disney Jr on the AppleTV. They didn't use it and didn't care that we used their login. We did this with several other channels, including HBO.
We also did SlingTV when it first started. I can't remember if Disney Jr was a channel or if it was just the Disney channel. My DS usually only watches shows in the morning and the Disney channel shows Dis Jr most mornings. It worked well for what we needed. I'm not sure what their channels are now. We had to get the Fire stick because Sling only worked on the Fire or Roku at the time. Netflix also has a ton of Dis Jr shows. We also like Amazon Prime streaming...lots of good shows there as well!
Another option would be PlayStation Vue (if available in your area and if you have a PlayStation). I think it has more channels than Sling.

Disney junior is hard to find!
Even with my parents cable subscription account, its not included!
I'm pretty sure Sling does have it, but I didn't like their application at all.
How do you watch netflix now? Do you have a smart tv?

My MIL has Netflix which we use and stream through of Google chrome cast or DS's smart TV. lol Yes my child has a smart tv and we don't

@bubblegum: We've had sling for over a year and they recently did an upgrade to the app and we love it so much more now, less streaming issues. We pay $5 extra per month to get Disney Jr and other kids channels.

@lilyann: Oh awesome! I glad to hear a good review. Yes I saw they have Disney Jr for $5 more a month which is perfect. All I really need live is sports and Disney Jr. Sling Tv makes more sense than cable.

We are trying out sling right now. Not a big fan so far, we have the 25$/month version and it includes nick jr instead of Disney. It's strange but for some reason nick jr always skips, we thought it was the Internet but other channels are much less skippy! We have Hulu, Amazon prime, and use a chrome cast. I also stream tons of stuff from you tube on the tv (like every single episode of peppa pig seems to be on you tube, Elmo's world, other random stuff)

@junebugsmama: interesting. We have a smart tv with Roku and our nick jr is very glitchy, too. I also thought it was our connection. Luckily, DD is in a Disney jr phase at the moment.
We split all our streaming channels with friends and family. So we trade passwords so that we have Hulu, Amazon prime, Netflix, HBO go and Disney jr. It's been working for us that way for the last 4 years. We use my dads direct tv password for the Disney jr app and have had no issues with accessing the shows. It's probably our most used channel.

We have an Apple Remote and signed up for DirectTV- there's a bunch of Disney channels not sure about Disney Junior though. The Sling channel listing is super limited. We haven't had it for about 2-3 months now and I don't recall it having Disney Junior. We still have a subscription to Hulu and Netflix. The Direct TV app only has Fox as a basic cable type channel.

Does anyone have any experience with Playstation Vue? DH has been researching that as an option. He thought their packages seem pretty comparable with Sling

PlayStation Vue has Disney Junior in their cheapest package ($39.99 per month), We have it and we really like it. You can stream PlayStation Vue on the Fire stick.

@bubblegum: I thought that was DH's motivation too but he let it slip that you can get it all through streaming and don't actually need the PlayStation.

@bubblegum: Haha! We mostly stream it on DH's PS4, but you don't have to have a PlayStation to get it. There are quite a few devices that support it. We also occasionally use our Fire stick to stream it.

We have PlayStation vue (similar to slingtv) and like it so far! It's $40/month and we have all the channels we need. Not sure if Disney junior is something you'd be able to watch as our DD is still a baby.

WE have Amazon Prime, Netflix, Google Chromecast, and we use my parent's login for Dish for Disney Jr. (only way I could get it to work.) We did not like Sling TV and we used to have Hulu and would have kept it had we not had a Dish login (it works for all the apps so we can watch the same stuff free.) We also have a digital antenna for live local channels. We've been cord free for about 5 months now, I'm fine with it, DHs' ready to get cable again for sports but not until we move into our newly built home. I was going to suggest playstation vue but looks like others already have!

We have a firestick and an apple TV that my dad gifted us. We use netflix and hulu on the apple TV (and HBO in the past), and we use amazon prime and currently HBO on the firestick. Instead of Disney Jr, we watch some of LO's favorites on netflix and hulu (Sofia and Doc), and I bought a couple seasons of Mickey Clubhouse on Amazon. She doesn't mind watching the same ones over again so that has worked out well for us.
