My mom came in for Thanksgiving and wanted to keep T overnight at my grandmothers. At first I was excited to go home and get good sleep, but now that I left him Im so worried and I miss him!!! He's a good sleeper but has only ever been used to us putting him to bed.
Wah. Was it this hard for you all too? I'm not sure if I'll even sleep!!

I haven't spent overnight away yet, but my MIL did bedtime with my son for the first time (and although he gets formula during the day, I've breastfed him before bed every night of his life!) and it went off without a hitch! We got home around 1am and he was sleeping peacefully, and did until 6am (which was a rude awakening for us). He'll be fine!! Enjoy your sleep

The only overnight I've had is having dd when I was in the hospital. So that wasn't until DS was 17 months old. Good luck!

We haven't yet either but DH is planning a romantic weekend for my birthday the end of December and we're planning on let N stay at one of our parents or his sister house then and I'm already having mixed feelings about but I'm excited at the same time so we'll see how that goes then. But for you I say try and do something relaxing and enjoy yourself.

M was 3 weeks old when I started my gall bladder issues and 5 weeks when it came out. It was hard to be away from him, but the pain meds made it all better lol.
Since then he's never been away overnight. But D has. He's 7 though. I'm over it by now lol

I did it the first time when C was about 8 months old and I freaked out all night too. lol. I think thats totally normal.
But yeah, she's 2.5 now... someone please take her. Id love to sleep in.

We've done a couple. I think the first was around 19 or 20 months. He had been put down a couple times by my parents at our house, and taken a number of naps at theirs. It has always gone fine. In fact, DH and I are having an overnight date night tomorrow while they keep him! I always miss him, but it's nice to re-connect with DH (and sleep better!)

The first time is always hard - with both boys I gave my mom a ridiculous amount of instructions and called constantly to check in. But I think you could really use the break, mama!

Hope you had a nice evening alone! DH wants to take me away for our anniversary in March (DD will be 13 months) and I'm already nervous about it. Initially he wanted to go away for a week, but we compromised on a weekend trip instead.

He slept all night. Even slept in until 7am! Better than at home. He was happy and playing when we got here this morning

I can imagine that being tough! My DS is 16 months and I still haven't left him overnight anywhere. I'm sure he would be fine, but I wouldn't, lol.

I spent my first night away from DD at 18 months and it was great and hard. I missed her and felt so guilty that I wasn't there if she needed me. But she was fine and I had a great time. She was a clingy little thing for the following week though.
