We are leaving tomorrow morning for our one and only vacation this summer and my 17 month old just woke up at 11pm covered in puke. WTH?! He is currently asleep on my chest and hasn't thrown up again, but last night he has a touch of diarrhea. He's teething so I hoped it was just that since he often gets it when teething. So freaking frustrated and no clue what to do. I want to cry and scream.

In my experience with these things if you go more than 2 hrs without another puke it was probably a fluke - if you get another puke within the hour I'm guessing its a virus. In terms of what to do about the holiday, if you think it can be contained I'd go - if its full on Norwalk virus I'd probably cancel, since its likely you'll get it as well in a day or two

Well, hasn't thrown up again so we're forging ahead. Between this and my 4 year woke up with a crazy night terror and my dog was scratching bug bites all night, we got no sleep so it's an interesting start to our vacation...

Hope everything goes ok! R had a bug a few months ago where he vomited twice in a few hours. Then nothing for 24 hours and one more puke. The next day he didn't want to eat and his appetite was off for a few days but he was ok. I got it but it just came in the form of diahhrea.

@travellingbee: how is his appetite? When LO had norovirus on our vacation, he threw up multiple time rapidly, then once every 24 hrs and had no appetite for almost a week. So a healthy appetite would be a good sign! Best of luck.

As an update:
the stomach bug is now sweeping through the family while on vacation, and I am currently sick as a dog. Boo! Such a joy traveling with germy kids.
