Happy World Down Syndrome Day!
I have a old coworker who's twin daughter has Down syndrome. She's a beautiful little girl who has gone through a lot of adversity. Just back in August she had open heart surgery at age 3. She's doing well now and is such a doll!

My neighbor's little sister had DS. They moved away when she was pretty little but I alwus think of their family. Thanks for sharing! I didn't know it was World Down Syndrome Day!

My uncle has Down Syndrome. He lived with my family for a few years after my grandpa died. He definitely presented my parents with some challenges but he is so loving and sweet. And he has an amazing memory! He can name every president and Vice President and the years they were in office, among many other things. He loves to read and listen to music.
Today I also wore "funky socks" for Down Syndrome awareness. It's something I saw on FB that seemed like a fun idea for a good reason.

Our best friends daughter has Down Syndrome. Knowing and loving her has totally altered the way I think about Down Syndrome! She's ds1's best friend in the world and the biggest ham ever.
