Have you ever had a bad choking incident with your LO? If not, do you feel confident that you would be able to help them?
We've thankfully never had anything too bad, but we've had a few times where we felt like we had to move quickly to do a finger sweep in LO's mouth to clear things out before it got worse. Sometimes LOs can be such squirrels shoving stuff in their mouth lol.

Choked, no. Did I think she was choking when she was just gagging when she was starting on solids? Absolutely.

Yep, stopped breathing, turned blue, limp. I still have nightmares about it. Luckily I saved her. I don't like thinking about it.

Yes, she choked on Halloween. It was bad. DH was able to dislodge 2 pieces.
She also swallowed a mandarin orange slice whole and it got stuck- I was able to get it out.

Twice at daycare, within a few weeks of each other - we ended up switching daycares because of lack of supervision was getting crazy. DD was 15 months, one time she choked on a rock that she'd brought in from the playground, the other time on a wheat thin - why they thought wheat thins were a good snack for that age is beyond me! Both times they had to do the Heimlich.

@Boogs: Yea it was so bad. The next week a teacher dropped some kind of food on the floor and she ate it and they "weren't sure" if it had peanuts in it (DD has a peanut allergy). It was a center in the same building as my work so it was convenient but man it went downhill fast!

DD1 choked a few times but nothing serious.
When DD2 was an infant, she was on her activity mat in the living room, I was in the kitchen getting DD1 lunch and on the phone with my mom (we have an open floor plan so the kitchen and living room are basically the same room) when all of a sudden I hear her let out a giant scream. I run over and her entire mouth was blue. Apparently she has spit up silently and was choking on it and I had no idea. I didn't let her lay flat on her mat at all after that.

@youboots: the only time my LO has chocked was on a slice of Mandarin orange too!
